After we caught NS 329 in Wyatt, we went over to the nearby gas station to get some gas and use the bathroom. Just as I was about to head inside to pay and use the bathroom (after filling up), we heard a train coming on the BNSF Birmingham Sub so I took a second to wait and see what it was. Once I saw the head-end power, I knew we were definitely gonna chase it, so I quickly got my business taken care of and we hopped on the road to try and beat it to Cordova, which was thankfully made a bit easier due to the train being stopped just east of town with PTC issues.
We were originally gonna set-up at River Road due to the angle, but as the sun began to set, and we found-out that the train was delayed with PTC issues, we decided to move over here instead, as the crossings before it would give us a bit more warning about it approaching. After a little while of waiting, the northbound intermodal train came through with what was easily our best catch of the day: a pair of "Fakebonnet" Dash-9s pulling and an H3 ES44C4 working as the mid-train DPU! I'd wanted to get one of these Fakebonnet units leading for a while (at least, other than the partially-patched one that the NERR used to have), and well, now I was finally able to!
As you can see, nothing has changed to this crossing since I last recorded it as well. Seems BNSF has wound-down on their upgrades to this line, at least here in Alabama.
