@@garybeckefeld9613 I loved seeing the brand new 1957 chev I saw in this one. I had a 1956 Chev (in 1968). The huge over-weight Buicks, Chryslers, Dodges, Cadillacs and such were for old fat business men and us teens hated um. My dad had a 55 Ford Crown Victoria. I loved that car too. In case anyone didn't know, this episode is not "The Deadly Diamonds" (S4: Ep9) but actually one called "Gem Robbery" (S4: Ep19) according to the IMDb. There is also another earlier episode that is called "Gem Robbery" (S2: Ep32) which may have caused the confusion. The "Deadly Diamonds" is one of four episodes that is currently not available on KZitem. The other three episodes are: "Mothers' March", "Nitro", and "Revenge" (1). In order to see those particular shows you have to shell out some serious DVD loot.

One difference is only diamonds worth $35,000 are stolen in this story. The other involves various gems worth $350,000."IMDB has "Gem Robbery" listed as S4 E9. I just wanted to add all the episodes listed here are on You Tube now. I watch Highway Patrol every morning at 5am the past year. The diamond thieves should've driven away Rita's car with them and stashed it away somewhere. With Rita AND her car missing, Rita would be suspect and an APB would've been put out for her car. But with Rita's car abandoned right in front of the station, the police would immediately suspect she might've been kidnapped. The Uniform Crime Report indicates that burglary or breaking and entering is by far the largest reported or detected felony, far exceeding robbery. The announcer indicated that robbery was most common, which is not true. Nevertheless, this historical rerun is fun to watch. The question is, will the Lt. use the wall map once again?
