Kathryn, I’m always impressed that even though you often admit to being nervous about some of your adventures, it doesn’t stop you from from diving in and taking them on! So many people never even attempt anything that takes them out of their comfort zone, and you seem to embrace the challenge! I’m impressed. 👍

The water colors are incredible. I love the picture! You guys looking at the two waters with your dog in the middle staring was so perfect. Great family picture. Do you normally try to catch fish to add to your food supply in your RV? What does the reindeer sausage taste like? Is it taste just like regular sausage? The pizza sliced was bigger than her head. I love it. You're the first RV KZitemr that's actually shown us any of Anchorage and the actual city. Good job of getting up and down the mountain. I have yet to find the mountain goats in our journeys. We have seen the bighorn sheep and all the other animals but not the beautiful mountain goods. Great shots of them! Another great video!

We really liked that photo also! No, I haven't kept any fish. Those are the only 3 I've ever caught! I'm not sure when I'll keep some. We tried the reindeer sausage at Snow City Cafe in Anchorage and thought it was really good! It had a little different flavor than regular sausage, but it wasn't completely different. Maybe a little leaner. The pizza was soooo good! We felt so lucky to see those mountain goats! Thanks and thanks for watching!

Loved this one! Adam, the joy of you fishing is so fun to watch. Love the enthusiasm. My oldest son is at a fishing camp this week and they just learned how to fly fish yesterday...looks so fun! Have you heard of "tenkara" fly fishing? I was just reading up all about it the other day. It's a Japanese style of fly fishing with just the rod, line, and fly...no reel. And the pole is telescopic so it packs down REAL small. It would be perfect for your back country hikes and all that if you continue on with your fishing journey. That 1st hike with the double color lakes was so cool. Love to see that someday. And yum to the ice cream. I love when you get 2/3 flavors in one go. And nice camera work getting the baby goat jump...hahah...love that. Finally, great music choices on this one!

All hail the credit card payment. I can't get over how many times I've not had 6, £1 coins (because who does?!) and we've not been able to pay with our phone because there was no signal! The south Fork Valley Trail was all kinds of stunning. The river and lake was like toothpaste. I agree that the boulder field looked okay - I'd much prefer a flat one to one on the Flattop Mountain slope. I'm so pleased you guys hiked up to show us the difference in the lake colours of the first trail - never would have thought 2 so close together would be fed differently and look so differently. The double waterfall on the Crow Pass to Crystal Lake hike were brilliant. I loved the redness of the rocks that they sat between. Such a fantastic shot towards the end of the baby goat jumping over the water. Do you know if they were the same ones Kathryn spotted at the waterfall? I had no idea this state park existed, and as always, you guys keep giving me areas to add to m bucket list!
@AdventuresofAplusK
2 жыл бұрын
It's 2022...get with the program! We've been in that situation too where there is the option to pay with the phone, but no cell signal! Ya more level boulder fields are no big deal compared to ones like Flattop. That hike up above the lakes was a bit sketchy at some points. The slope was steep and the ground wasn't very firm. We got so lucky with those goats. Yes they were the ones we saw earlier in the hike and they made they're way down towards the trail! We're pretty sure that's the largest state park in the US, but weren't 100% sure so we didn't want to state that in the video. But it is massive and there is tons to do!

Good on you guys for trying the rhubarb crisp ice cream! You cannot come to Alaska and not have something rhubarb! My girlfriend's mom down in Redding, CA (BTW, great video on Redding!) And we always have to bring her rhubarb from the plants in my yard! Then she always bakes us something great with it. Good trade! The Alaskans and eating more per capital than anywhere else, probably why I've never made it to Flattop... ;-) Been to the parking lot a million times. Sporty drive in the winter! Another fun video showing our home in a fun light!

Oh that's one of my favorite ice cream flavors I've ever had! In my top 5 for sure! That is a great trade you've got going there! Flattop was a ton of fun!

I’ve been looking for your van every time I’ve been out and about hoping to see you, but I’m sure you are long gone from Anchorage. Glad you tried Moose’s Tooth! My daughter actually works there in the summer. It is the best pizza I’ve ever had. My favorite is Santa’s Little Helper or Avalanche. Excellent choice for ice cream! Alaskans measure our summer with the fireweed bloom cycle. Once the tips have bloomed out, we say it’s the end of summer! It’s also beautiful when it goes to seed with its cotton like seed and the leaves turn a beautiful red. Can you imagine running the Crow Pass Trail? Alaska has an event where people run from where you parked, over the pass to the Eagle River Nature Center. It’s been fun watching you enjoy my home state! Looking forward to the next post.

Yes our videos are about a month delayed. Moose's Tooth was super delicious! We hope to go back and try the other pizzas. The two you mentioned have been recommended often to us! We're not trail runners so running the Crow Pass Trail sounds intense! We'd love to come back and backpack it though! Alaska has been a dream trip come true and we are loving it out here! Thanks and thanks for watching!

No we don't use a gimbal. We have in the past, but not any longer. We hold our breaths when panning and go as slow as possible

I love Moose's Tooth. I also recommend the Rustic Goat and Seven Glaciers. Seven Glaciers is pricey but you'll love the views. By the way the gondola is free when you have a reservation at Seven Bridges. Also, don't miss the Kenai Peninsula and Seward. You might like the trail too and from Wesser too. The tunnel is fun too.

We were in Anchorage a couple of weeks later. I had Fire Weed, Sitka Swirl and Alaska Baked at Wild Scoops too but a different store in downtown.😃 We hiked coastal trail in Anchorage, much shorter and easier. Would love to go to Chugach Mountain when we have more time next trip there. Thanks again for your fun and informative videos!

I saw your van in the South Fork parking lot the day you were there. The yellow fuel can caught my eye. A few days later one of your videos popped up on KZitem, and there was that yellow fuel can in the thumbnail. Small world. Not long after that I passed you as I was going into Anchorage, and you were heading out. I live in the South Fork valley, and walk my dog on that trail every day. Nice job portraying its beauty.

Hi! Flattop is really nice, but it’s still “in the city”. If you want be more in nature and see MUCH less people I’d go with South Fork Valley. Both awesome though!
