Just dorking around in the automotive off season here in Iowa. Mostly working on Carb Cheater 2.0 and a standalone screen compatible with 1.0 - Thanks you to the several thousand folks who purchased a Carb Cheater last year.

Thats pretty cool for an old Ford. My dad had a 1978 6 cyl. 3 speed in the tree. It wasn't as cold as the 94 Ford nor even my 95 bronco. I miss that 78 Ford. Red with a gray and black seat. Ot actually didn't get too cold. Just warm enough in. Btw I had a good friend who was born in Marshalltown Iowa. Dustin was a good friend. Lived in VA for a while. But he loved growing up in Marshalltown

You've been reading my mind! I figured you were working on the CC 2.0 during "winter break." And I've been thinking a standalone screen for the CC would be perfect. Great minds think alike I guess? Also, crazy thought here, but with the Cheater installed, would it be possible to use a manual choke to reduce airflow and increase fuel economy? From what little I know about this ancient engine technology it would have the same effect as installing a smaller carb, yes?

Can you please do a carb cheater video with a 4 cylinder engine, maybe a Toyota/Honda would love to see what kind of crazy mpg you could get out of a 4 cylinder!

I had a 1976 f100 with the 390 and three on the tree, i called it my bush pig. I bought it for $500 and abused the shit out of it for two seasons. Went to my favorite watering hole one day after work and there was this farmer who i had never seen before. Well he come over to my table and ask me if the truck had the 390 in it. I told him yes it did but it was a standard 3 on the tree. He ask if i was willin to sell it, i said everything is for sale for the right price. Well he offered me $800 and i signed the ownership over to him over another beer. I let him take it home with my license plate and insurance that night and the next day he came to my work shop and returned my plates and insurance papers. He told me that truck was pulling his hay wagons like they had know weight on them and he was very happy. Well to this day me and my farmer buddy are very good friends and he likes telling people how he screwed me on selling that 390 beast. You just can't kill those old fords with the 390, thats when Ford was built TOUGH.

Brings back memories, Luke! My first truck was a '73 F-100 with the 3 tanks. I always assumed that was aftermarket, since the 2 saddle tanks had no gauges. 54 gallons and I could drive over 500 miles on a single fill-up! 🙂 Always had to run the saddle tanks first and then when it ran out of gas reach down real quick and switch tanks, running the one with the gauge last so I'd know when to fill it back up.

Those old Fords are tanks. My family has had many of them. My dad and grandpa told me about a truck they had called "Little Red". It was a 1979 F100 with a 302 and 4 speed that when grandpa sold it had 332k miles on it. Dad said it Looked like brand new inside and out when he sold it. The Engine and not even the carburetor had been rebuilt and the most major thing my grandpa ever did was he rebuilt the transmission but other than that it was basic maintenance. They said it was in desperate need of a rebuild but it always fired up and did its job. Goes to show how taking care of something can go a long way. That has been a really good truck for you. I say honesty it deserves some love like another functional gas tank and maybe some quality of life improvements.

Life was so much more simple back in the 70's. A person could grab some simple tools and spend an afternoon tinkering with a vehicle and have amazing results. New stuff, you spend an afternoon trying not to break the plastic clips that hold everything together. And how many of us older people remember riding around everywhere in the back of a truck....or the far back of an old station wagon. Life was good.

Had several old Fords from the 70's. Honest trucks that did a heck of a lot of hard work. My current darling is an old '74 F250 with a 390 with an automatic behind it. I've got the t-case set for 4x4 low, and that's how it lives on the farm here in northern MN; -farm chores and snow plow duty. Recently came to find out that I'm only the 2nd owner. The first guy bought it new off the dealership years ago. My other half's extended family has fond memories of cruising around in that truck on family camping and vacation travels over the years. I'm under strict orders from her family to never part with it. heh.

Uncle Luke said: "I built a garage, good lighting, tools in place . . Nah . . think I'll work outside in the cold under low light" . . . you cracked me up 😄 You lucky man, I've never met a pretty woman that looks like she just hopped out of the shower as she lifts heavy bales of hay onto the back of a truck and then opts to ride on top of the hay bales instead of in the cab. I bet she can hunt & shoot too.

In 2015 saw it and when past it parking lot at show and heard someone say it was my uncle name truck so stop and said saved this old 1955 Frago was my great uncle truck new owner never met ever told me found parts in USA on in internet and got parts fix up 3 years doing restoration! Then added more springs and a set of 18" GMC duals after grinding centers for proper fit. Not sure of potential top end speed, but did manage to outrun our County Sheriff .🎉😮😮😅 I know for a fact it was 120 mph at least. LOL Thanks for the update Luke....
