Just a quick endorsement - I just completed Taro's 14-day Neck Challenge, and explored a whole bunch of different connections to my neck, similar to this one. I do a series of pelvic rolls every day but your cues made a big difference for my neck! I usually exert rather than sense and feel. Thank you!

I am becoming far more aware of my bodies movements and how it feels. I can now feel when l am aligned or out of sync with the ease of movement and less pain.

This is crazy, the right side my neck was driving me insane for years. The people at the barber shop would always complain that my head would always end up tilting right and I got concerned because I never really realized. I was meditating today and was focusing on the tightness and that side of my neck and all of a sudden I realized it was directly connected to the tension on the lower right side of my back, right above my hip. I’d been trying to stretch my neck back to normal for years, but releasing the tension at my back above the hip immediately gave me relief. I’m going to try this exercise now and hopefully it gives me a better awareness of this part of my back/neck.

Did as best i could with cranky hips. Neck to the right was tight, loosened up after the exercise. Now i need something to loosen up cranky hips. Thanks Taro for your guidance. ❤

Amazing! I didn't think anything would happen because my head wasn't even moving at all during the exercise but I had twice the range of movement at the end!

Thanks Taro. I had a hip replacement some 14 years ago and now have one leg shorter and that has affected my spine, reflecting on my neck spondylosis. I subconsciously put more weight on the other leg..😅 These exercises help a lot. 🙏

Thank you for this vdo🙏🏻 I'm wondering if a mattress/pillow relates to neck tension/problem. I've done pelvic exercise before bed and I feel fine. When I lie down on my bed, I feel tight on my neck and have a hard time going to sleep. When I wake up, my neck gets pain. Also my right jaw felt tighter and made noise when opening my mouth. I think my mattress is about 10 years😅 Of course it gets softer and some areas don't bounce back.

you're welcome:) yes, a mattress/pillow can certainly affect your neck. I would experiment with different types of pillow, and mattress if you can.

Thank you, Taro. I'm exploring which movements feel the most helpful which include your teachings, pandiculation, and somatic movement. They are all related to each other it seems. I understand conceptually that everything is connected, but I feel challenged with truly sensing this. Plus I usually still end up pushing too far. I'm used to moving into discomfort, not pain. And maybe that works with some physical exercises. I'm also used to doing bigger movements to feel like I'm actually doing something. I'm trying to have more patience with moving really slowly, with smaller movements, and not focus on reps so that I can pay more internal attention. With doing this movement tonight, I didn't notice a change in my posture, but I think there was a very slight relaxation of my neck. I will aim to do this one every day for a week and see if I feel more noticeable results.

changing the way we act (how we think, move, sense, and feel) is naturally challenging. Many people have been trained well to push hard, but very few have learned how to sense own body. This is a part of the nervous system retraining. I was not naturally good at moving slowly, sensing my body, but I've learned this skill with practice. So there's no reason why you cannot learn this skill:)

My neck felt like tight rubber bands turning left and right. After pelvic tilts it was significantly better . I have a lot of pain in the buttocks and upper hip areas , I think coming from my back… muscles are weak everywhere - need to get stronger. Every time I try to strengthen I hurt something. Any suggestions would be helpful, any at all. Thank you.

yes, you can learn to sense and feel your body more clearly and learn to move more optimally. People injure themselves, not because they are weak and tight, but because they are not aware of their body clearly. That's what I'm helping people with :)

if you want to improve your conditions, you need to discover your habitual movement patterns and how your movement patterns contribute to your current conditions, then you'll know how you can get out of those patterns. this always starts with you brining your attention to your body and observing how you move. that's what I helping people with:)
