What I am saying is that to get to the heart of the matter one must simply look at ALL the available information and not just randomly selected pieces. I for one dont think hes correct, but based on the format of your show and me only seeing this one video it just comes across as a weak debunking. Because it seems so selected in what's being used as evidence and what isnt. Not saying you are doing anything inherently wrong though. But it would be similar to if you were making a claim and I used small pieces of footage to dismiss the claim that wouldn't be wise. Considering he has alot of information that can be combed through and debunked. In essence it's your channel and I am not telling you how to run it. I just think it would be more beneficial to do a thorough debunking rather than a video of this length etc and of this type of material being presented. One would think it would be better to address any documents or documentation that he has and carefully tear that apart using your same format. As opposed to looking at a video of him talking to a Nigerian and asking about family stories as an example. That's all I meant.

You don't have things wrong brother. This dude infers to disprove statements and arguments with no proof to the contrary. I don't blame him for the lack of knowledge because that's what our education system does. $5 Indians are real. Just because he didn't read about them paying $5 to be put on the roles doesn't mean it didn't happen. Instead, to refute the $5 Indian claim, he goes several years forward to the revision of the Dawe's roles where they broke the land into blocks of individual ownership. He expects these "KZitemrs" to show proof, when they already have, but he doesn't ask for proof from the education system that taught him that ALL black people come from Africa. How does an American teach African studies but won't dig deeper into American studies? Why are ALL darker skinned people from Africa, but lighter skinned people claim whatever land masses they "settled" in, but are never the original inhabitants? He lost the argument in the beginning by putting Dane Calloway's name in the title and showing clips of other people. And notice that very few people come at Kurimeo Ahua because he tells the book title, date and author before the readings. Implying that the information is false and that people were brought to this country is to deny common sense, which is the most integral part of learning. How could the majority of people on a whole continent be killed off by disease that was brought only to the coastal regions while the rest of the land mass hadn't even been explored yet? Why is there very little mention of other countries who "explored" here before and alongside the English, French and Spanish? No mention that the indigenous people in America were referred to as African, negroes and n*****rs before it was used for the people who actually lived in the continent known as Africa. They speak of the Irish being brought as slaves, but don't speak of the skin color of the Irish people, nor the Germans, nor Dutch, nor French or Spanish. Benjamin Franklin wrote about it. He spoke about his disdain for all of the Germans being sent to America and went further to say, "why increase the sons of Africa...most all of Europe is swarthy (dark skinned). There is a whole history that is never spoken of, mountains of evidence that this guy refutes by the simple notion that he doesn't know it, so the burden of proof is on those who say it. He should rely less on words and negating arguments and replace it with further reading of older books to prove to himself whether or not the information is false. If you only learn what you are taught, you never know anything because other peoples' explanations should never be the sole basis of your knowledge. Be yourself, teach yourself, and you will know yourself.

Umm .. in the video you are attempting to discredit has a clip of wakaflocka referencing is blood elders whom informed him of his indigenous ancestry which you did not include. You used the clip as an example of poor information sharing cutting out the valid section of his clip (4:52 in on Dane Calloway’s video ) .. And then you go to the talk with Godfrey.. an actual African being asked about his education which he is saying that didn’t include a slave trade. And your first piece of evidence to discredit him is a regular book. Not a government document while claiming that Dane doesn’t provide anything. Even though he does. It’s called a build or body of work. He provides definitions, the dictionary publisher n year he gets the definitions from and the laws.
@AfricanElements
3 жыл бұрын
Fair Points... 1. You are correct that I did not use the entire video. I edited out for time and redundancy portions that I consider to be the _weakest_ evidence. Waka's claim of indigenous ancestry doesn't mean black people are indigenous. I have Cherokee ancestry as well. All that means is that one of my African ancestors had sex with one of my Cherokee ancestors. 2. The problem with Godfrey was twofold: he didn't say it didn't happen, he said he hadn't heard it. That is an argument from ignorance. The fact that you hadn't heard of something doesn't mean it didn't happen. The other thing (wish I did not mention in the video and should have) is Dane's cherry picking. he found one African who hadn't heard of the slave trade ignoring the vast majority who have. That is why I included the book written by an African who experienced the slave trade firsthand (which oddly you don't consider to be evidence for some reason). That is also the reason why I included the two African leaders who apologize for their roles in the slave trade. I did so to expose a cherry-picking fallacy. 3. I don't believe I missed any government documents or definitions (what's your actually not evidence, but I would have addressed why dictionary definitions are not evidence had he addressed it in the video). had I addressed evidence that Dane did not bring up in the video, I would have been guilty of a straw man fallacy.

Dane Calloway exhibits all the classic symptoms of a schizophrenic. Schizophrenics are highly intelligent, but their though process are skewed because the synapses in their brains misfire. Calloway videos display the classic loose word associations of schizophrenics. They often sound brilliant, but if you analyze the things schizophrenics say the logic derails. “Derailment”, aka “Loose Associations” The abnormality in derailment occurs at the discourse level, involving unclear or confusing connections between larger units, such as sentences or clauses. Connection between ideas is on spectrum from vague to completely unrelated. Most common manifestation is a slow, steady slippage, with no single derailment being particularly severe, so that the speaker gets farther and farther off track. In the following example, notice how each sentence makes sense, yet the meaning slips slowly off track.

The funny part is in the library of congress you can find books to prove Dane Calloway is correct only people who don't read and let other people tell them what's true will fall for this video. Yet if you go to the library of congress or my favorite just ask your grandparents they know more than these young people telling you that your from Africa my grandmothers are Blackfoot Indians and there families did good with keeping their history. I learned from her that one point in time the world had melanin people every were yet for some strange reason they always claimed we came from Africa. Its like they can't say you melanin was global yes you could have came from numerus places. After the "American Colonization Society" sent our ancestors to West Africa to prevent a race war they later bought them back and labeled them African. That's why people from West Africa looks like us they came from the same place our ancestors originated from. If anyone get a chance try going to the library of congress it's archives pretty much debunk Pan-Africans with ease and a lot of other theories people put out and it uses hard core facts and what people observed in the New world before everything started getting censored and whitewashed.

Cause if a claim can only be proven by the one making the claim then it takes away the responsibility of your own mind. I don't think it's wrong for someone not to prove themselves. It's a bonus if they do but no one owes another that. But to each is own. When you get facts about an Act you weren't there so you don't know if the info on the Dawes Act is valid. But I'll wait on your response mainly to the begining of my comment. I was considering doing a video on historical methodology and how we can determine what's true. In the case of the Dawes act, it's legislation that anybody can read, so we can be fairly confident when looking at the primary document of what we're talking about. With regards to the first part of the comment, I'm actually not making a claim for the most part (with the exception of the Dawes Act). What I'm doing is assessing the validity of _his_ claim. The point here is to give people tools to assess whether or not a claim warrants belief. As such, I'm not making a claim about whether it's right or wrong, only whether or not he is met his burden of proof. Making a claim that he's right or wrong would place a burden of proof on me. The burden of proof is on the person who is making the claim.

I feel that this video would have went over better with people if you picked a Dane Callaway video where he did most of the talking so that you can argue against the points that he himself is making. That's what makes this video kind of a let down and it seem somewhat like a disingenuous attack on Dane. Though I don't believe that was your intention at all. Final thoughts: Outside of this video it seems like you probably have some vary solid historical information here so I subscribed and will be watching more of you work.

I appreciate your feedback. The video was intended to help folks recognize flawed reasoning (and avoid gaps in reasoning themselves), so if it did that for you, that's a success. The video wasn't necessarily about Dane personally, and this just happened to be the most recent video he posted at the time I recorded this video. Thanks for the sub!

As an African person It saddens me seeing the Direct descendants of Africans saying they have nothing to do with our beloved continent. Where did this Matrix come from? Can you imagine White/european Americans saying their origin is from Bangladesh? That would be ridiculous...
@AfricanElements

As far as I can tell, it largely comes from a misunderstanding of Van Sertima's work. As flawed as his work was, Van Sertima never asserted that Black people were indigenous to the Americas. He only argued that they came before Columbus (from Africa).

I believe that the question in reference to the Matrix should be why have so many chosen the pill that keeps them there. Our history was written with many interesting intentions. Every level of formal education is bs and if one can’t see that it’s simply because they are choosing not to look. I do not agree with everything that Dane Calloway says however what he has accomplished in just a few short years is to shake folks and help bring them out of a dream state. Everyone’s story isn’t the same but what we’ve been told is that basically depending on your complexion or language or surname that they are. Prior to the mid 1800’s, this history that is spoken of did not exist. How do I know? Because I’ve spent 30 years researching it. Anyone could take 30 minutes and research (not google or KZitem) the World’s Fair’s and at least understand that. It’s easier to pull the cover over head and just go along with the narrative, regardless of what that may be I guess anyway.

@Julia Revilio Van Sertima? He is clearly making the case that Black people came from Africa. To say otherwise, is to clearly indicate that you haven't read his work.

I would like you to tell me what she said wrong. The people she named has not let indigenous people know the facts and in their position of power on what ever level they have no connection to the so called blacks. Which was and is a derogatory title we don't like or want.
@AfricanElements

As I explained, she made a claim that black people are indigenous to the Americas and did nothing whatsoever to demonstrate the truth of that claim. Also, she's the one that used the term, "black people." If you find it derogatory, take it up with her. I made no mention of that term whatsoever. What I said was that her reasoning is circular, (e.g., "It's true, because it's true.")
