I love mine. Great review. I just added the Topo specter 2 to my rotation. Same stack, drop and rocker as the Mach 6.

Wondering if you would recommend these for marathon long run training? I know people typically say the Clifton is better for that, but I'm pretty light, midfoot strike, and leaning towards just going with this for all of my long runs because it's lighter - if you've taken it out for 20-30km runs, would love to hear your thoughts!

Hey Steven 🙂 As a Hoka fan, been running in the Mach 4’s for quite sometime, and still love them. Right out of the box, they were great ! Now, the Mach 5’s came out, and after several reviews, I thought I’d give them a try. Got them at a discounted price. Received them, and yesterday took them for my first run/ walk. I know it’s too soon to judge, however, I’m seeing my Mach 4’s as much better. I’ll give the 5’s a few more tries….. but the 4’s maybe what I stick with ?! Have you tried the 4’, or 5’s ?, and what are your thoughts ? Also, how would you compare the new 6’s to the other two ? -Thanks Steven 🙂👍🏃♂️.

The last Mach I tried was the Mach X and the Mach 2. I did not like the Mach 2. I have heard the Mach 5 was great, but lacked a proper outsole. The midsole in the Mach 6 is so awesome though!

Is this something worth to consider for use in long runs? I'm not that strong a runner yet so my long runs tend to run for either an hour and a half or at least 10k for now. Athough I am currently training to reach the half-marathon distance. I was hoping to buy something for long runs that I can also use in speedwork days. Most of the people I talk to always recommend the Clifton 9s better for every day running and long runs.

The Mach 6 would be perfect for that!

I went in to my local store and got fitted for the first time. I’ve basically taken about a solid year off of running and my prior shoes, the Clifton 7s are at about 350 miles and I knew it was time to get some new ones. When I got fitted I tried the Clifton 9s, bondi 8s, some ASICS that are comparable to the Clifton 9s, brooks glycerin 21s and the mach 6. I was leaning towards the ole reliable in Clifton 9s who were insanely comfortable and have never failed me in the past until I put on the Mach 6s and they felt the same as the Clifton 9s but were lighter and gave me this feeling like they were propelling me forward and I instantly picked the Mach 6. I’m 6 foot and 215 and my first run in them which was a slow 4 mile aerobic heart rate zone run and they felt great. Very happy with my choice and glad I had went in and got fitted. Looking forward to getting some miles on them and and enjoying some running again.

Nothing like the Mach 5. The 6 (Wide) has a firmer ride and higher stack. My tendon plate injury returned after two weeks running on them. Too bad. Now I have to search for a alternative. To Hoka and some other manufacturers with this annoying habit: never change a winning team (too much)
