Ok…more background 😁 In October 2020 Home Free put together an Indiegogo campaign to fund a livestream Warmest Winter Christmas Special. They started with a goal of $75K, which they reached in a few hours. So they started adding “stretch goals” for a longer livestream with more performers…at $150K they added Jeffrey East; at $175K, The Oakridge Boys; and finally at $200K, Alabama. The campaign raised over $230K. This video was taken from the livestream. They wanted Austin to do the second verse but he thought it was a little too low for him. So he took it up an octave and when they recorded it he really turned on his southern gospel background. Nobody really knew he was going to do it that way so everyone was surprised…you saw the reaction from the Oaks and Jeffrey is smiling, somewhat in disbelief. Austin created such a wonderful unscripted moment! I love it. Thanks for your reaction (And thanks Leandra!)

The story goes that during rehearsals Austin was just singing his part "normally", and then during this performance Austin turned it up a notch and the Boys were impressed, to say the least.

Thank you! Jeffrey East is a close friend of Home Free and wrote many songs on their albums. A special surprise for us at a Christmas show last year, Jeffrey East came out and sang his song People with Home Free. I 😭 tears of joy. It was beautiful. Home Free is my favorite band, Jeffery East is a favorite artist, I love that the Oak Ridge boy was excited just like all us 🍟 when Austin goes into Gospel mode! 🤯

Elvira ... the other Oak Ridge Boys collaboration. Jeffrey East is part of the huge Home Free extended family, and performs with Tim and Austin in their Sweet & Low Music Co. ventures. This is a rare instance of having a real guitar in play. So the two instruments here were a guitar and Adam. Great reaction!

The song you were thinking of is Elvira. When Tim and Richard Sterban had a little bass off. It was Tim, Austin, Adam, Rob and Chris in studio singing with them. Jeffery East actually opened for them on tour. He is a very good friend of their's now. Joe Bonsall (tenor) loves to give Austin a bad because of how high he goes. He was the guy on Austin's right. William Lee Golden has the long beard is their baritone. Duane Allen is their lead vocalist. This was from their Christmas Special they did. I reallly enjoy watching your reactions to this song.

You´re thinking about -- Elvira . And when Tim wants to make a little fun with Austin [ about sounding like a real man ] he says since they worked with the Oaks standing next to their bass Richard Sterban he now know how Austin feels everyday standing next to him 🤣the look on Austins face is perfect🤣as always much love and respect from Denmark

Elvira was an early collab with the ORB when Chris was still with them. Also check out People by Home Free ft. Jeffrey East. Another great one is Tim Foust + Austin Brown + Jeffrey East + Chris Chatham cover Clay Walker Whats It To You. That one is filmed on Austin's property and the pinup is Amberly.

Thank you for reacting. Yes, Richard the Oaks bass singer, in this song, is very audible as the first bass. People tend to think of Tim as THE amazing, fantastic singer. NOT to impute on his great talent, but Richard IS Tim's idol & I can understand why. Richard Sterban can sing with any regular mic and without any "tricks" aka fry, and with a rich a wonderful, strong resonance.

Jeffrey East, the Oak Ridge Boys & Home Free sound fantastic together. I understand that this is a southern gospel standard. This was recorded live for a livestream special during Covid. When Austin was a kid he sometimes traveled and sang with his father's gospel quartet in Georgia, so if it feels like he took you to church . . .

Nothing better than good old-fashioned Southern Gospel, it's what I grew up on at the Baptist church here in Miami as a kid. Austin really turns on his Southern Gospel Quartet roots (His daddy was or still is a member of a Southern Gospel Quartet ????), anyways one of my favorites for Cchristmas by Home Free....as for Jeffrey East I mau have to have you guys do some of his stuff after the 1st of the year !!! Gotta save my pennies for that LOL??
