I really appreciated the historical background and context for this magnificent cover by Austin Brown and Home Free. It is important to understand the origin and roots of this song that give it so much heart and soul. And Home Free certainly paid homage to that heart and soul in their rendition. Great reaction.

I rarely comment on reactions but I must say you deserve kudos for the detail....depth and effort you put into this reaction. So many reactors just go through the motions with very little effort just to get views and likes. There are only a handful of reactors who truly deserve those views and based on what I have seen you are one of those handful. Keep up the great work and thank you for this wonderful analysis and trip down memory lane. Lastly Home Free's cover of this amazing song was definitely an upgrade like so many of their covers are and I am not shy about saying it. Thank you again. :)

Percy Sledge was singing about a bad break-up and sings "I gave you everything I had". Austin's lady Amberly was in the studio when this was filmed and he sings "I'll give you everything I've got". I always loved the late Mr. Sledge's original (not so much Bolton's cover). I think he'd have approved of HFs rendition. If you haven't watched the "Stargazer Trilogy" - it's 3 interconnected songs Austin wrote for his lady Amberly - it's terrific.

Home Free recorded this during the pandemic, they gave us many songs to keep us going. Percy's original will always be #1 with me, but Home Free's is a very close #2. Btw-Austin's lady love, Amberly, was standing near the camera, what inspiration for this song❤

This song was a perfect fit for Austin’s talent. Your are right this is a special song and Home Free nailed it. I grew up listening and loving the Percy Sledge version. This was made during the Covid lockdown and all the parts and video were recorded separately and edited together. Austin also had some added inspiration, every time he looked into the camera he was singing to his lady who standing by the camera. Thank you for recognizing the passion the Home Fries has for this group. I am amazed how loyal and fanatical these fans including me are. That song you showed at the end SO LONG DIXIE is a great Home Free original and deserves to be reacted to. Thank you for this history of the song and great reaction. You have a blessed day

Thanks for all the back story of this great classic. I grew up loving Percy's version, but Austin took it over the top for me. I instantly fell in love with Austin and his version 😂 I forgot about Bettes recording which i really did love. Didn't care for Michael's. My opinion only. Tim from HomeFree encouraged him to do it then said after that a lot of babies would be born in about 9 month's 😂. Don't know how that turned out. Austin could give lessons on flirting with the camera, yes i know his girlfriend was there in the studio. ❤😮🥰🎶🎶🎶 Thank you for a great reaction. Love your opinion.

I've always loved the Percy Sledge version and didn't really want to hear anyone else sing it. To me, Percy sang the song as if he wasn't sure he could survive this great love, and Austin sang the song joyfully as if this love was the best thing that ever happened to him. Home Free did a great job.😊

Percy sang it as a man who was hurting from being in love. Bolton - well, he sang it, but I felt nothing from him other than a perfunctory performance. Austin sings it like a man who is in love with being in love. He is on top of the world, and is letting the world know.

Austin did a fabulous job of this classic song. Loved Percy Sledge's version, but this was taken to another level. I think it is also better than Michael Bolton's version. And remember this was done during quarantine, so the guys weren't even together. The backing harmonies are great, along with Tim's bass. And Adam's vocal percussion is outstanding. Drummers have often commented on just how realistic his sound is. This is why these guys are my favorite a cappella group.

An emotional song for sure. But Home Free's version? Austin's high notes are every bit as amazing as the others. And ALL completely acapella?!? With their harmonies and Adam's vocal percussion too?!? No solo act is ever going to best their version as far as I'm concerned. Theirs is now what plays on my regular playlist. In my opinion, Home Free OWNS this song for me now❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️

Appreciate your take on this special, special song - I cut my teenage teeth on Mr Sledge's once in a life-time classic. I feel it in these old tired bones that Percy is smiling down on this wonderful, priceless homage to his song of songs!! These guys are always so proud and honored to pay tribute to the classics such as this and their classic covers such as this one and others like The Gambler", "American Pie", "Elvira", just to name a few, adds so much to show honor and gratitude to the original artists. They're never too good or too cool to collaborate with lesser know artists to share the spotlight with them. I appreciate the care and time you've put into your reactions to all the artists that HF covers...it says a lot about the person your mama raised you to be - God bless her!! I'm as new Sub to your channel and as a "Home Frie" will faithfully follow your channel and give you the kudos you richly deserve! Kindest Regards!! RichieC (Atlanta Ga)
