This is absolutely amazing! As a professional captain, I have run vessels this size. So I do appreciate just what this all represents. I was also captain of a 74 foot Morrelli and Melvin all aluminum Catamaran with twin 970 HP caterpillars. But it wasn’t even remotely close to the scope of this. I have no words that can comprehend this project done in a BACK YARD!! Conceived, designed and built at least primarily by one person!!! What??

As yacht entusiast this blown my mind away! How? I Watched documentation of building this craft, still i cannot understand how mostly one person can complete this level of design and engineering with this level of performance in so low propulsion power, if something, very inspiring. Speechless.

Yeah it's really horrific what the Mexican government allowed to happen to Clyde's boat the US government should have put a stop to it immediately by sending our navy to confiscate it from the cartel.
@roadboat9216

That would be really nice but very unlikely. I cruised and lived on my sailboat in Mexico for about 3 yrs. Loved it. BUT. It is what it is, a developing country. Each port captain had his little micro cartel going. Grafting as much as possible. You had to learn which ports to deal with and which to stay away from. And even worse corruption than the US. Much worse. Like here, Power and money run the majority of things. But in Mexico so much of that power and money is with criminal cartels. In the US the Uber wealthy and corporations own the politicians that make the laws so that way they are “within the law”. In Mexico it’s all under the table, and laws don’t apply the this power structure. Kaleidoscopes owner was very very fortunate to have that connection that he did. If not he would have either A. Not gotten his boat back or B. Gotten killed.

The engineer, designer, builder, and owner Clyde E. A modern day hero? I wonder if you ve ever thought the story of you and the boat would motivate and inspire so many people in so many different aspects of life, not necessarily limited to construction and design, back in 90's almost 35 years ago! just like the mytologies telling the story of a man against all odds and enourmous amount of work to be done repeated many generations to come, your single man task to build a home in the sea will inspire many of us to pursue what you've been seeking, eternity... 3D boat building, smart composite precast and layered on site material use along with some novel surface treatment technologies to recuce overall design and construction time and effort. this will be the challenge of new Clyde's of the 21st century. I salute you, sincerely.

You must build it correctly but when you do, what a fine machine. I had the great pleasure of working with the original designer of the Seawind. Roger tought me more than all of my post elementary schooling! The stuff roger thought me has made me a fantastic sum of money over the years. Not to mention he taught me to dream and taught me to keep my head up when my dreams are crushed. Simply by example. Good human.

Yep one guy (with some help at points) designed, built this in his aluminum 100' super yacht, 80 miles from water. He had it dismantled as he planned, trucked to the water. He is posting the videos on his channel now of the build.... He is up to part 3.... This is a promo video for the charter company that Charters out this amazing 100' Power Cat Kaleidoscope. Again, one mans dream (with his wife's support which is critical), using, drive, talent, hard work, long hours, sweat, determination and personal treasure to build this beautiful super Yacht. The amount of work is impressive it has to be said, but at the same time it has to be said whats the point, you could have contracted a chinese firm which would have built it in a quarter of the time for half as much money with twice the finish!!, building something like this just to prove you can is only evidence that you dont take the time to consider if makes sense and actually ask the important question, wether you actually should
