He’s right about people that just seem to be mad that you’re doing something that takes you around a few rules. You can’t buy a big old building and fix it yourself. I remember being shut down for dust from making the dust from the bricks. So work all night and nothing to talk about when the inspector comes in the morning. A lot of people don’t like the idea of a little guy doing something on his own. Especially if it might put him ahead at the end of the day. A friend of mine bought a hundred year old bank with 7 floors worth of old flooring to pull out people said how can you do this all by yourself. He said it’s like eating an elephant one piece at a time.

A stunning achievement. Congrats. You're obviously a decent ally welder with a good eye & a dream. The only real issue I can see is in years to come, when the cracks start to appear (as they inevitably will) the salt getting absorbed into the cracks make it almost bloody impossible to re-weld over those cracks. But that's waaay into the future by the looks of your design. Pretty sure this girl will outlast you! Will try to follow your progress (first time here) & see her afloat. Best of luck! 👍
