Beef Lasagna Recipe:
*Ingredients:*
- 1/2 kg ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 tomatoes blendid in water
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
-1/2 cup chopped capsicum
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 2 tablespoons butter
-2 table spoons flour
- 1 cup milk
- 4 cups shredded cheese
*Instructions:*
1. *Preheat the Oven*
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. *Cook the Beef Mixture*
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain any excess fat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until softened and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
3. *Prepare the Tomato Sauce*
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add capsicum. Simmer the sauce on low heat for 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
4. *Cook the Lasagna Noodles*
While the sauce simmers, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the noodles and lay them flat on a clean surface to prevent sticking.
5. *Making white sauce*
In a pan add butter and 1 tbsp oil. When butter melts add the flour and saute, when it becomes fragrant then add milk and whisk until they both are well combined and the sauce gets thicken. Now add salt, pepper and dried oregano.
6. *Assemble the Lasagna*
In a 9x13-inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of the white sauce on the bottom. Place a layer of lasagna noodles over the sauce. Spread a third of the meat sauce mixture over the noodles, followed by a layer of white sauce and cheese. Repeat the layers (white sauce, noodles, meat sauce, mozzarella) two more times. Finish with a final layer of sauce and top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
7. *Bake the Lasagna*
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil, ensuring it doesn’t touch the cheese to avoid sticking. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
8. *Rest and Serve*
Allow the lasagna to rest for 10-15 minutes before cutting into it. This helps the layers set, making it easier to serve. Cut into squares and enjoy!
