We love our students planners but we started with a checklist for different days!!! We did it generally and it worked so well!!! My 5 year old loves doing our family subjects with us!!! We don’t do math drills as they don’t help my kids learn!!!

I used to do the checklist just written in a spiral. I may go back to that. I used to not really care for math drills, but I think it helps to have faster computation for our oldest.

I love the idea of studying specific buildings in the country. We live in. Most of the Aussie buildings are in our city of Sydney and we’ve visited them but I’ve not thought of looking at the history of the buildings!!! I’m passionate about teaching black Aussie history but I want to do it in a Christian way as the aboriginals have some non Christian traditions!!! There culture pre dates our faith but they are aboriginal Christians!!! My twins where obsessed with Peter Pan when they where at the preschool age!!!

My thought process is that by studying the buildings and history of those before really digging into American history, they’re interest will be piqued possibly even while learning about the not so exciting stuff. I’ve only read a little bit about Australia’s history and it was so interesting. It was about the Stolen Generations. Reading Peter Pan together has been so fun!
