This year has been my 1st year homeschooling 3 different grades, with a toddler in the mix. I'm sharing what our homeschool schedule (more of a routine) looks like and how I write out each child's school day so they know what needs to get done each day.
I don't have scheduled times, we just aim to start the school day at 9 am and do the next subject. Having an order to the day has really helped me (and the kids) to kind of get it done rather than flounder around wondering what's next.
We've played around with doing our family style subjects first and individual subjects like math last. And I've also tried doing individual subjects 1st and family read aloud subjects last. I don't think for us that there's a winner...but what has made the biggest difference is having a flow that's similar every day.
Writing it all down list style for each grade helps me to remember what to do, without the burden of having to plan ahead. We just do the next lesson for each subject!
My 3rd grader and 2nd grader's lists are almost identical...with the only difference being my 3rd grader has spelling added.
