I puffed my VTX's gas tank last week using too much air pressure while leak testing after I welded it; I was able to get it back to shape using a rubber mallet, pieces of wood and plywood, setting it on a soft surface (Acapulco chair) sitting on welding leather gear, some patience and a flurry of hitting 😅... Oooh, that VTX engine sound, so sweet

Thank you so much for your comment now how to fixed a gas leak is to clean the tank and get some Red kote and line the I sided of it I know because I have been using it since 1986 and it works and I have never had a comeback 👍

She’s looking and sounding good now! FYI I spent the weekend rebuilding my carburetor and installing a new battery in my 86 Kawasaki 750 and she’s purring like a kitten. Difficult pulling out and installing but easy to rebuild. A little crusty inside so I put the body in my Sonicator tank and that did the trick.

Could you tell where the hose that you took out from behind the tank is connected to? I washed my tank but that hose came out by itself now that I put the tank in there is no gas I have that problem
