@AsAngelsFall221

The two above me have no idea about how bad the Passport/Rodeo and SLX/Trooper were for Honda in the 90s. Isuzu engines were EXTREMELY prone to oil leaks, the bodies rusted at a higher rate than their Honda built counterparts, and they got ZERO support from Honda once the 2000s hit. There is a very big reason why you still see 4Runners and even Pathfinders and Monteros, rather than seeing Rodeos and Troopers and their Honda rebadges. That same misguidedness is what will cause this to fail. EVs are already not selling and sitting on lots, these will pile up on lots and the few who do buy them will suffer for it. Everyone I worked with at Acura quit right before this thing came out, including the master technician trained for it who had been with the dealer almost 20 years. That should tell you something...

As a mexican viewer I really dont get why mexican manufacturing is always a question with you guys. The only BMW M divison car made outside Germany is made in Mexico. The X5 an X3 also are made here. The Golf GTI that you always loved so much from previous generations were all made here! We sure still cant engineer cars ourselves (yet) but we manufacture them pretty solid.

It makes a lot of sense for Honda to have worked with someone on a EV partnership. Am I happy it was GM? No, but I'm also not the target customer. I wouldn't purchase any first generation of a new model, let alone EVs. Honda will 100% make their own electric cars, but they can't afford to now. This vehicle makes a lot of sense for those who would never know. Not everyone is a "car" person.

"It's not easy being green" sang the famous frog. "It's not easy working with GM" is the song that many others sang when working with GM. I have heard this song from other partner companies including Toyota, Isuzu and consultants. It was a familiar song in GM overseas operations in Opel in Germany, Holden In Australia, Vauxhall in England and their Latin and Asia Pacific operations. It would have been a difficult cultural journey for Honda to develop with GM. The product outcome tells a story whose final chapter will be written in sales.

In 2005, Motorola partnered with Apple to announce the Motorola ROKR, a flip phone that was an evolution of the Motorola RAZR but with Apple's iTunes software. Connect the phone to your computer and you could manage your music as easily as you could your iPod. It was Apple's first look, first exploration into the cell phone market, but they wanted an industry-leading partner to help them take those first steps. In 2007, Apple unveiled the iPhone. As an S2000 owner, driver, and enthusiast, I hope this his Honda's ROKR.

You guys have the ID4 video, right? At least you said in another video that you've filmed it, but supposedly hated it so much you didn't wanna release it? Which sucks. I get wanting to preserve relationships with VW to continue getting test cars, but the bad ones are as important (if not more) than the glowing reviews. This is not (at least per comments) not anticipated hotly and we'd love your input.

@@commbubba1990 Yeah, I get that, they have to finely toe the line. However - if they as automotive journalists feel a vehicle is so bad, they should release the video on it. There could be a way to relay the message without completely trashing it. I'm sure there's lots of positives. But, ton to be aware of. I just finished a work trip last week with a new Atlas that got the same infotainment system as ID4 and holy buckets it is a disaster. Nearly unusable. I'm sure owner gets used to it, but capacitive everything needs to go.

I think everyone in the comment section is still living in the past with GM. At least this is something different. The Honda lineup at this point is a bunch of CVT equipped, low-revving commuter crossovers and a minivan perfect for non-enthusiasts. Are they good at boring these days? They have nailed it :) They literally have ONE enthusiast product which is the Civic lineup. GM chassis engineers are known to be some of the best in the business these days. It’s like the new Supra…everyone is afraid of what “could be down the road maybe” vs just driving.
