I bought an st 1100 earlier this summer....awesome ride.....had a 2005 concours .....the 1992, though older is a superior handling machine by a long shot.....feels much lighter (gas tank is down low vs up high on the Connie....AND the V4 1100 is super smooth......SUPER.

That's a very clean bike for it's age and for that price an absolute steal! I'd strongly recommend changing the timing belt if it hasn't been done and you plan to keep the bike. Don't overload the 28 amp alternator with lots of stuff like heated seats/jacket etc, heated grips should be fine. Check out the US owners club website there's plenty of bikes with 200k+ miles and one guy from Canada with over 320k miles on his Pan. Enjoy.

Hi ,glad you got one ,yes they are pretty hefty bikes to push arround ,just take your time with it , I changed my screen to an mra flip touring screen ..the difference is amazing ,my top box is a givi monolock which can just fit two helmets in ,I think its 35l ,dont really think you can get too big a box for the pan ,imo they look much better with a box on ..enjoy it went to north wales on mine last week 500 miles round trip just brilliant regards MARK

@ebuyerFTW never ridden a gl1800 but they are the ultimate armchair on wheels !,quite pricey still I think,I have ridden the gl1500 which is glorious,and alot cheaper, but found it a bit too big and heavy to move arround so thats why I went for the pan st1100 ,got it for a steel at £1500 too.

Should be fine as its really only about half a litre or so between being in the middle or to the top mark,strangely though the guy I bought the bike from said that when he filled it to the top mark he noticed a little more engine vibration ?? maybe oil pressure so he loosened the sump and drained a bit out to the middle ,I changed mine a few months ago and its in the middle of the window ..glad you like the screen and tyres ..what part of the uk are you from as we do lots of rideouts scoast

@ebuyerFTW They are amazingly comfortable for one up riding !,big comfy seat ,very relaxed upright position a very torquey lazy motor which you never need to rev over say 5000 rpm ,get yourself a touring screen for it ,I have an mra screen and now wind blast is virtually zero and noise is down alot aswell ,highly recommended and def as good as the critics say hope you find a nice one there are loads out there :)

@markpulling12 Bummer! They are very expensive from Honda new, like £600 or thereabouts. Later bikes had a 40amp unit that is much more robust, there is a guy in the US who sells converted alternators made from a mix of new Honda parts. Check Ebay in the US for his listings, I'll try to find the link and post it up. Jim.

@stephandevriesere3667

alan evans Hey Alan, regarding your question this is standard. I guess by now you have figured this out. If you want to have both lights working then you should lead an electric wire from the one that works to the other. that way both lights always light up. Note that the reflectors of both headlight units differ a bit, so if you do this your light will be a bit wider That should not be a problem. I did this on my Pan and never had any trouble with it.

mark pulling Not worried, just curious as I'm kind of window shopping for a second bike when off restrictions . The ST1100 or 1300 is in my top ten. The question was more to satisfy curisousity. Thanks for the prompt reply. Have a good one.

Get the ST1100 if you can find one. Many ST1300 owners would like to go back to the 1100. I have a 1996 ST 1100 with 72 thousand miles and is now for sale as I am 74 and need a lighter machine. Although ,I might just keep it up and keep it . They do not sell for much in the US, so not to keen on letting it go.

@@markpulling12 thought st1100 was a belt setup?..the vfr is gear driven and whines
@alm4132
5 жыл бұрын
@@geedee6339 The belt drives the gears which drive the cams. Cams then drop in and this system simplifies valve adjustments. Hence the gear whine even though it uses a belt.
