Hostas are a popular type of perennial plant that are loved for their lush foliage and ability to thrive in shade. There are many different types of hostas, each with their own unique leaf shape, color, and growth habit.
Jackie Froemming, Crow Wing County Extension Educator, shares the differences between plants. Some common leaf shapes for hostas include heart-shaped, lance-shaped, oval, and round. The leaves can be smooth or textured, and may be variegated with different shades of green, yellow, or white.
