If franks this formidable on his lonesome, imagine the power of office with his own team. Dream team
@akorn9943
Жыл бұрын
And honestly the beauty in it is that not having that dream team is Frank’s own fault, you think he can do any thing he sets his mind to because he’s exceptionally brilliant, committed, powerful, ruthless, but also so ruthless, so power-hungry that he drives away anyone who could possibly help him, or better yet, fill that giant hole in his heart that he will never fill- from Zoe, Peter Russo, Remy, Jackie, Freddy, and eventually Claire, he drives away or destroys anyone who could have ever had his back for a momentary gain in power. Even Meechum dies from the indirect result of Frank’s evil deeds. And although Season 6 was all over the place, I think it’s so fitting that, just as in the English version Francis was killed by his wife, Frank in our version was killed by Stamper, the most loyal of them all, proving that despite all the power Frank amassed, it was ultimately worth nothing, he still ended up dead and alone- he wanted the stone building that would stand for centuries but got the McMansion in Sarasota, nothing but a house of cards that earned him nothing more than a miserable grave next to his failure daddy in Gaffney.

So they needed him to cooperate. Him being the President gives him the respect of the party as soon as he announces. So in reality, he definitely had the advantage.

@Fred Subia well, in some ways, yes. I think the show became more complex at S3, started to focus on the characters and how to handle and keep power. In Season 1-2 the plot was all about “be the president no matter what” , Frank almost won every negotation and thats it, but in Season 3 he had to handle a lots of shit, the investigations about corruption, win the presidency but now with real wotes, deal with Petrov, make the America Works succesful and all above his relationship with Claire. Hes cunning, try to make things rights, we see him gain weight, his hair became grey, and the first and last time he cries like a little boy on the floor. I think this was made out of purpouse , House of Cards S3-S5 wasnt made for everyone who liked S1-S2, because the tone was changed a little. The goal was how to gain power in S1-S2, but in S3-S5 its all about how to hold the power and how to create a legacy, at least thats my opinion about the show. S6 does not exist for me.
