Chicken Balls are chicken balls ..chicken tenders, fingers or chicken strips are normally done with a panko style batter...ps ..some places I've eaten had chicken insidea third of your cuts...but we never cared its all about the thick tempura and sweet and sour or as my kids called it red sauce

I'm from Ontario, Canada and I have never heard them called anything other than Chicken balls. To me chicken fingers are the breaded long pieces that are like Chicken McNuggets from McDonalds!! Every Chinese restaurant I've ever been in called them Chicken balls so don't know where these other people are from but not Ontario!!..LOL!! Not that it matters... they TASTE GREAT, and that's the important part!!

@DMSProduktions Oh no, another reason online "Facts About Canada" videos should do more research. Where I live in Canada, we do not say "Oot," which is a regional accent in the eastern portion of the country. We live in a Western prairie province. Do we have our own accent? I don't hear it if we do. Do we have our own dialect? Yes, that I will agree with. Take the word "Bunnyhug," for example. That is absolutely one we developed in Sask. "Vico" is another provincial term. I believe one would find that amongst any country that has provinces, states, or regions. Just want people to understand the misconceptions about my beautiful country! 🇨🇦

Hi I’ve just cooked this for my Dinner. I made the sweet and sour sauce then added it to a crunchy vegetable stir fry, then tossed in the chicken balls with some extra crunchy chips (French fries) and served it up with a extra drizzle of the sauce over the top. I had also pimped the sauce a bit by adding some fresh chillies to it. Absolutely yummy. I have some half cooked balls and sauce left over, which I will store in the freezer for another day. Thank you both for sharing your knowledge and recipes

I made Chicken Balls tonight. I can confirm that the naming is correct for the UK. Mine was made with a hybrid version of the sweet and sour sauce recipe I normally use (from the Wok cookbook by J Kenji Lopez-Alt) along with your earlier sweet and sour video, which uses cloves, star anise and Oranges for more aromatics. This was served with a stir fried veg / chilli / garlic / ginger / soy / sesame oil side dish and obviously rice. The whole lot went down really well. The balls were nice and crunchy on the outside, the batter was light and the chicken was nice and moist. Thanks ! You can count me as +1 for adding MSG. One suggestion. Adding the full ingredients list and their measurements into the video description makes setting up a lot easier. Take a look at Souped up Recipe's channel for ideas.

I have travelled extensively throughout Canada and America for many many years and love North American style Chinese food. Chicken fingers are the same as chicken tenders which are strips of chicken that are breaded and then fried. These offering are usually served in non Chinese restaurants. Depending on the establishment various sauces are offered from honey mustard to ranch to bbq. Chicken balls are cubes of chicken usually chicken breast which are battered and then fried. They are always served with sweet and sour sauce.

But want to add I’m was Military brat that’s lived all over Canada from west coast to middle of Canada and also a railroader that’s never in the same place twice, I’ve also been far north in the territories eating a lot of Asian cuisine, never heard the term chicken fingers for this, it’s always been SS chicken balls or Chen balls. Chicken fingers is the tender part of the chicken off the Breast and coated in bread crumbs then fried and dipped in ketchup.

@@ZiangsFoodWorkshop... Nope...chicken balls are chicken balls (battered with s/s sauce) and chicken fingers are chicken fingers (breaded with honey mustard, honey dill or many other dipping sauces). I now use SR flour seasoning, with Mary Mack's instant batter mix to coat (sold here in all supermarkets). Also good for fish & chips. I use frozen Basa, thaw, lightly salt & sit for 2hrs in fridge to draw out moisture for stay crunchy batter.
