Also one more thing to consider. I use devons lifts in my training. In the past I had a very weak wrist. Pretty much every one of my matches would end up in a flop press. After months of working with devons pronator and rising lifts, I have noticed that my opponents now(the same people who cracked my wrist easily before) now can't. And I have to say, I have not trained my "Wrist" ever. I used to do a few wrist curls before. But from the past few months where this change occurred I have not trained my wrist. My wrist just magically got stronger. So devons lifts work to some greater degree that I don't properly understand.
@EastsideArmWrestling
9 ай бұрын
Yes, that is a very good point to bring up as well, and here’s why: With a stronger riser and pronation, you will put your opponent’s hand under way more pressure than they can put onto yours. This in turn reduces the force they are exerting on your fingers and wrist, hence giving the illusion of your wrist becoming stronger. But in fact, it’s because your other parts are stronger, which prevents them from exerting as much force as before.

Not ideal for tournaments.

While I’m initially inclined to agree with you, after watching Cvetan, he somehow manages to use his style to pull even through multiple hard matches at tournaments, so I’m not so sure anymore.

@@EastsideArmWrestling That doesn't sound exactly to the contrary, but I'd like to take a look aswell. What tournaments have you checked with Cvetan?
@EastsideArmWrestling

@@vargvikernes5617 the two competitions where I have personally armwrestled with cvetan at are KOTT International (2022) and Vier Sport (2023), in both instances he had multiple long matches with different opponents and still managed to come out on top. At the AMC tournaments he also has long matches but still manages to do relatively well.

@@EastsideArmWrestling You may really appreciate Pascal Girard if you haven't heard of him. I'm curious if you think he has a "perfect toproll" and how you'd compare it to Devon's
@EastsideArmWrestling
9 ай бұрын
@@vargvikernes5617 Oh yes, of course, Pascal's a legend too, his match vs Prudnyk was one of my favorites back when I first started armwrestling. Yeah I do think he has an extremely similar style to Cvetan. But what I noticed is that Pascal & Cvetan differ from Devon in the fact that Devon also has access to an inside game (at least comparing modern Devon/Cvetan/Pascal). But I digress. If talking purely about toprolling, I believe these guys are as close to perfect as it can get.

If the opponent is stronger you will lose your pronation and cup. It's not intentional or a special technique. The strength is either sufficient or it is not.

I use to like Devon Larratt, but he turned into Michael Todd and rely on the Kings move too much. He don’t really have the endurance like everybody claims he just goes under the table until people get tired 🥱 while conserving his energy. He’s nothing without the kings move

Devon even said the flop press and the kings move are not winning moves, he said that himself, look it up, he said it’s there to beat people that don’t know how to arm wrestle. Yet he’s relying solely on the kings move😂
