Today, we are interested in the birth of Islam and the time of the Prophet Muhammad.
This is an essential step in understanding how this small core of Muslims, fleeing towards Medina in 622, could become, decades later, a real empire!
But the problem is that these early days of Islam, especially the time of the Prophet Muhammad, are extremely dark.
I therefore suggest that you see (a little) more clearly in this episode.
👉 EDIT: I realized that I didn't talk about the "Pact of Yathrib" (or Constitution of Medina) as expected. So, I'm doing it here: it's about an alliance pact that some of the clans of Medina (including some Jews) would have made with Muhammad and the first Muslims during the first half of the 620s. It is well thought today that it is a very old text and that is why it is very interesting.
But the small problem posed by this Pact in relation to Muslim/Jewish relations is that the three tribes mentioned in the video (Banû Nadir, Banû Qaynuqa and Banû Qurayza) are not named.
