As a Maharashtrian, I agree that there is an impact of migration. It’s due to flawed policies of the politicians of Bihar state. Apart from south India, even in Maharashtra, Hindi is seen the way it is seen in south India, though the scale is not that much. We always thought that Hindi is from the Hindi belt and is ruining local language and culture. Little did I know that infact Hindi ruined other language of this Hindi belt! Thanks for another informative video mohak!

As a Maharashtrian you should know there is difference between your own Marathi language and some dialect is considered as "pure" and others are mocked upon. You should also know how the Pune centred state board has been slowly killing the other "ashudda" dialects from Vidarbha and Marathwada and enforcing their own version of Marathi in these parts.

As Mumbai has much higher Hdi , unfortunately a politician from Mumbai have to talk about Marathi farmers , instead doing metropolitan politics . Maharashtra steals the taxes of Mumbai and didn't invested it back . Mumbai is special economy region , but not self administered or full state like Shanghai , Newyork , Tokyo, etc . I asked this question to former IAS officer Jagannath murty , he told Mumbai or BMC , has it own tax collecting system , etc . But further decentralisation of special region , is needed as Mumbai need a special administrative region , not just special economy region by Central government . He too told me output and input of taxes , etc are rigid in Mumbai , compare to that of Shanghai , Newyork , Tokyo . He told me that Mumbai give more taxes to Maharashtra and get lesser taxes back , inshort Mumbai is trapped in politics .

It's not so easy. There are no schools teaching these languages nor any official or formal work happening. Only Hindi is used for educational and official purposes in all over North India. Consequently Hindi comes to be seen as the language of the educated and other languages remain used only among the less educated and rural folks. The Government of India has consciously created an ecosystem that would incentivise Hindi at the expense of other languages. Hindi colonisation is real and insidious.

Maharashtra government last year passed bill and made marathi as compulsory language from std 1st to 10th in all boards of Maharashtra (such as CBSE, ICSE, IB, etc), violation of act will fine upto ₹ 1lakh to schools(fine may increase as suggested by opposition leader). And the bill also mentions there must be not restrictions directly or indirectly by schools on student's for speaking marathi. Other states must also pass this bill in their States.

@Spell Check they will choose hindi because it's easy to learn and score than marathi and people don't know that India has no national language everywhere fake statement is make that hindi is national language. Student must have choice to pick language whichever they want but that must third language. Maharashtra had highest number of immigration and most of then are from North India so they will definitely choose hindi and that's how marathi will decline, we have hindi compulsory language till 10th why ?

Problem is not Hindi per se. As you can see, Hindi itself is barely a language. It is just amalgamation of a lot of regional dialects. The idea was to create a pan India language by incorporating regional words which can be used for basic communication and official works. For example, many tribes in Arunachal Pradesh communicate with one another using Hindi. The problem becomes when people start to ditch their mother tongue in lieu of other language. If not Hindi, then it will be English which will be taking that place. Bengal should start teaching Hindi in every school as an additional language (not necessarily Delhi style hindi, bengal can create its own version of hindi and teach the way bengali people speaks Hindi, i.e. less gender oriented inflections, simple verbs mimicking Bengali verbs). That way at least Hindi, in its final form, would have a lot of influence from bengali and the languages will become more mutually understandable.

Actually Hindi is damaging whole north indian languages. Hindi/Urdu was not universal like nowadays. It was just language around Delhi(west up, east haryana, south uttarakhand). Rajasthan had Marwari, Malwi, Bhili, up had Awadhi, Bundeli, Braj Bhasha, etc, Bihar had Maithili, Bhojpuri. Mumbai had Konkani. Chhattisgarh had Chhattisgarhi and Gondi. Uttarakhand-hp had numerous languages. Rawalpindi-Islamabad had Punjabi. Karachi had Sindhi. But nowadays most of these regions has become Hindi/Urdu. Barely some regions like outter north india(Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Punjab, Kashmir, West Bengal, Odisha) and undeveloped rural places maintain their authentic languages.

We Odias are no different... our people are also moving away from our native language, as people go to other states for good jobs.... we Odias and Biharis both have a great culture since the Maurya empire.... but after that, there has only been a downfall.... no wonder why many pronunciations in Odia and some native Bihari words or pronunciation tone of some Hindi words are so common for us.... we know, both the states have seen poverty in the modern era, but 1000s of years ago we were not like that.... So as a respect to our cultures, I will support their motives if they want to learn their rooted history back, and we will always help them in support, doing the same ourselves..... love to people of Bihar from Odisha.... Edit : I see that many people in other comments say that Bihari language jumps from dialect to dialect in every other village... same in Odisha as far as I have heard (i dont live in Odisha since childhood) so this is again a common point for us.... and I have seen people of Bihar as negative people and they are also attacked and lynched (as per the video as well) no problem I can assure people of Odisha will not do so and treat everyone as same, as far as I know there is no major discrimination against us or us degrading others, maybe that's why we are the most silent state.... still all Biharis are warm heartedly welcome to visit Odisha (even though we were somewhat like enemies during Mauryan Empire with Magadha vs Kalinga stuff, lol)

I realised the importance of local language , local dialect and local food , local sounds cheap and down class to everyone , and that's the problem - perspective , when in school hindi was never promoted , forget regional language 😞. Literally these languages are our culture , our own culture , so its our responsibility to protect them . I get brain very soon about importance of local , hope everyone else gets the chance to understand the same thing . By the way I love Bhojpuri and brajbhasha , it sounds fascinating to me .

It's because our parents don't teach us our pahari languages and many will remove it from daily life when coming to the cities. Many of our parents and society is the biggest villian here for not giving the importance to our native language, not Hindi. I'm from Kumaon and i know it guys. Let's stay together and teach our native languages to our children with other Indian languages. Take the responsibility in your hands, diversity in language is an asset and a thing of prestige for us Indians, not of shame. Jai Hind 🇮🇳🙏

That's why, we south Indians rebelled against Hindi imposition. If you want to unite the land by language, then respect all language you will be welcomed everywhere with open arms. Try once to speak in broken language of Kannada/Telugu/Tamil/Odiya/Mizo/Assamese or any other languages you will be welcomed with open arms. I am proud to be ಕನ್ನಡಿಗ, meanwhile I learn and respect other languages. Simple rule: "Be Roman in Rome"

Ya bro .. Actually these Britishers and the Central Gov. has destroyed our Bihar. They are not giving us enough resources ..all they care about is Gujarat and then this Gujjus say why we Biharis Comes to their states..the reason is simple they have small population and the Central Government is completely helping Gujarat but in Bihar we have a large population but still the Central Gov. doesn't help us.... Though now we the citizens of Bihar are trying our best to regain our old proud status but it will take some time... We will be grateful if you all will support us😊....

I remember I was once going to Vishahari Mela (Very famous fastival in Bihar specially in Angika region some times also known as Mata Mansa Puja. If u dodn't know please Google it.) with my friends in my school dress. And I was getting late to go home, so I called my father and talked in Angika (Mother tongue) that I will come home late. At the same time I found that some people standing on the street were looking at me with Inferior sence. I think they thinks that how a English Medium School boy talk in Angika [such a low grade language (in their POV)]. But I don't care what people think. I always prefer to talk in Angika with my family, and I love my mother tongue Angika. ❣️❣️
