I quit my job last June out of self-respect and to protect my mental health. Being out of work for longer than two months is very uncomfortable for me since I love staying busy to keep my mind off negative things. I am actively looking for a job right now and hoping to land a good one soon, at least before the holiday season. Watching this video is helping me put my mind at ease at the moment as I anxiously wait for updates from the organizations I sent my resumès to. Thank you. 🙏

Aytch Dela Cruz, welcome here and thank you for sharing your experience. Hang in there! I really believe that as soon as we turn away from the things that don't serve us, we open up many new doors we didn't see before (even if it's not obvious right away). It may be uncomfortable right now but make yourself at home in this discomfort, see what it really feels like. You will land your dream job. P.S. Please share your updates, I'd love to know what you end up doing 🙌

But how did you afford rent/mortgage/taxes for two years?!?
@GRIMSREVENGE253

This is what I have learned.... The biggest problem will always be finding a place to live because most places are just bread boxes with appliances but the landlord will try to suck you dry just base on your desperation. Then you have family members who will have the room because their kids have left but will go into a power trip and treat you like crap threatening to kick you out for breathing too loud but will treat their dog who only eats and poops like a King.... something I will never understand. The solution is finding somebody with a good heart like you who just want to live in peace and tranquility who you can find a place with and break the rent in half. But then you watch shows like Forensic Files and see how mess up people are and be like.... I don't want somebody to put me in a wall. So now you have no where to turn and the light at the end of the tunnel is getting darker and darker. All you ask is just one person you can trust where you can save each other.... just one person. 😢 - GRIM

Hello! Great video, thanks for your insights. I found myself in a similar predicament, but without savings. Two years ago I had to leave work due to health reasons. Very soon after leaving I decided to start my youtube channel, and am now starting to earn a little from it. I probably work harder than ever but at least I can work to my own schedule and take rest when I need it. I recently looked into medium too. This is how I found you, ive subscribed and look forward to watching you grow on the platform as you surely will.

Hello Penguin and Pear (I love the name of your channel!). It's a pleasure to meet you and thank you for sharing your story! Every time I hear a story like yours, it gives me ever more confidence and reassurance that what I'm doing is actually not such a crazy thing and that, eventually, it will all work out fine. Congratulations on reaching the monetisation stage 🙌 I'm also looking forward to monetising my work so I can fully focus on creating, learning and becoming better at what I do, and not worry about also creating a stream of income at the same time. P.S. I've just checked out your channel and it looks very cool! I learnt the basics of sewing a few years ago from Stichless TV - which you mention in one of your videos - and I'm feeling nostalgic thinking about those winter days I spent with my sewing machine (a pink mini JL!) and my laptop. I'll be checking out your tutorials! Also, my newest video is a Medium editor tutorial - you might find it useful if you're a beginner on Medium.

@@The_Why_Girl thank you so much for checking out my videos! Yes, stitchless tv is great. I actually saw her give a workshop at an expo in London a few years ago, she is fantastic. KZitem is hardworking but so rewarding when you start to see the fruits of your labour. You are doing great on your channel. Your editing is so good for a beginner to the platform. Your content seems to be unique in the way you present it, you really stand out to me. I think the first 1000 subscribers is the hardest but after that it gets incrementally easier. Your content is so valuable, and I watched your medium editor video as soon as it came out. Rely comprehensive and helpful x

@@Penguinandpear Thank you, thank you, thank you. I didn't expect to receive so many compliments and they mean a LOT, especially at the beginning when I'm constantly wondering "does this actually give value to others, not only me?!". At least I know that I'm growing and learning doing this. Did you feel the same at the beginning? And did you ever feel like giving up? I'm SO happy to hear that you found the Medium editor tutorial useful! It required a bit of work but, now that it's out there and people can benefit from it, I'm glad that I had put in the effort.

Lols, not a good idea. First she would need to make a video every single day and of good interesting content. Second, she needs to get so many views that actually complete her video as well as subscribe to her. That is very hard to do. She will not make it. She will have to get another job because she is already having to justify her actions. She is also, using up all her savings which in today's world that is a horrible idea as money holds very little value now. She just doesn't want to work.
