Thank you, thank you, thank you! Not many people are as in depth about their behind the scenes. Seeing all this equipment and how technology has grown and makes our lives easier everyday is amazing. And you're right that many phone cameras can record in high quality, so recording and being a KZitemr can be accessible for everyone. I think we're over 4k in recent phones now. I really have to hand it to you and your husband for using your theater knowledge and experience (for recording, set up, and execution of videos, etc). I don't think many MT majors in my Uni were versed in it, but I think those kind of classes came later after we graduated. Thank you for doing this series. Your way of teaching helps us understand general etiquettes of filming and makes that knowledge accessible. I really love this and I'm learning so much from you

Woo hoo, Jason! Love love love your setup :) - I do have a question about that face-facing (?) microphone, if you don't mind. Since that one is on a mobile setup, where do you plug that in to capture audio? (is there a long cord we're not seeing weaving back to the computer?). I'm working with such a small space but it's been fun figuring out how to make it work for us (my partner has been super helpful in the process as well).

There’s a long cord that I unplugged so I wouldn’t trip while I was walking around filming not looking where I was stepping haha I’m just clumsy enough to fall and break my husband’s camera that he kindly lent me 😬 it stays plugged in at the other end and is just coiled under my desk when I’m not using it! The Tula is wireless so it worked well on the mobile set up as well 🤗

@@PlantBasedBride haha! I feel the accidental clumsy moment so hard. Thank you so much! I’ve been eyeing that Tula mic for face-on filming since your husband’s PWM 👌🏽

Yea, there is a sneaky XLR cable tucked away when not in use. We've actually just switched back to this mic after a long time using a mobile recorder while we packed up our old place settled into our new place. If you prefer an "untethered" way to record, Tula Mics is the company that made the mobile recording mic that almost all of the audio on all of the videos in the last 6 months, including this one. They can act as a standalone recorder and USB mic, have built in noise reduction and are super handy for day to day life. Also, they look super cool.

@@julia-here Didn't see this. Ha! I really love the Tula mics. Elizabeth and I sometimes have to negotiate custody with them.

@@jcabanaw Sounds good! I’m legit thinking about giving that one a try. I’m using a little lightning adapter Shure mic for my intro stuff right now and although it’s super handy for on the go audio..it’s sadly not cutting it for this type of content. Thanks for the insight!!

It feels so strange to see the whole rooms youtubers use. I always imagine the rooms to be bigger. I don't know why 😂 But I love those behind the scenes videos

Haha maybe someday I’ll have a bigger room! This one is actually quite a bit larger than my last filming room/home office 😂

#plantmas day two !! This may not be related to this video but is definitely content related. How do you gain the confidence to post on media? I find to get such imposter syndrome when I create content that I've been putting it off for ages. Love your content ❤

Honestly that’s a constant battle for me! I’m very introverted and can be pretty self conscious but love the arts and have always been involved in performing in some way or another. I think it’s just practice, honestly, and reminding yourself that there is guaranteed to be at least one person out in the world who can relate to you and will enjoy what you create. If you’re making content for yourself and you enjoy it it’s worth it, and the fact that others may enjoy it aswell is an awesome bonus!
