you are holy miles johnston as are the products of your effort. our work, as artist, is DONE when we can leave it, no? you and i are very different type of artists. i have had my art placed on the floor for viewing instead of being hung on a wall , i have had my work deliberately destroyed in front of me. i let go of considering it too precious long ago. i can identify with the Chineese artist Wei Wei who has had the strenght to take a priceless ming dynasty vase and smash it to bit in front of a horrified crowed of witnesses. imagine that courage. you and i are exactly opposite type of artists and different yet also the same in many ways.i think my rendering professor hated my artwork back in the day. BUT , i carried on inspite of his oppinion. profound gratitude for the example of a pure sacrificial life as an artist. you are truley a remarkable guy. i understand you a little bit now through your work that you have so generously shared. Enjoy and Savor your experiences as will i. Bless you and your family and your children for a thousand generations. I AM FOR YOU (hear that with two ears.) respectfully , angela ruth dagostino , indio california usa , alas, artist also.

Thank you for taking the time to make this, it is extremely valuable and precious. I'd come back to this countless more times I'm sure! And it's the first time in a long while I gave my full attention in watching a full long video instead of doing so while pausing a million times while doing many other things. It feels good to have focus and concentration. You're such an inspiration and one of the reasons why I came back to drawing after being unable to enjoy it for years due to the pressure of 'performing' through drawing for grades and work and others' expectations. Thank you so much!

Hey Miles, incredible work! Thank you so much for sharing your process and lifting the curtain on how you do your magic. Maybe a little quick to ask this after your first video, but are you planning to share any vids on managing the business side of what you do? Whether it be commissioned work or gallery stuff. I hear a lot from concept designers and those kind of artists how they work either freelance or salaried with film/tv/game companies etc but the fine art world in the 2020s feels somewhat of a mystery to me, and others I'm sure

Thank you very much for this, Miles! Very inspirational stuff, and great technical insights as well. I will try to enjoy my time drawing more, and the point about finding the " magical song in the playlist " is so relatable.. when I work many hours NO VIDEO will satisfy my restless mind, and I just stay distracted. Much like mindfulness it seems like learning to enjoy the process is a bit like training muscles. you can't just expect to bench 200 pounds on day 1. You gotta treat it like reps over time to get to a point where it becomes easier.

Miles, thank you thank you so much for doing this! I know how hard this must’ve been to put together and I appreciate all the work you put into making this (the art and the video). It’s hard to express how shocked and happy I was when this video showed up on my screen an hour ago. I just finished watching it and it’s everything I could’ve hoped for (right down to the art therapy section 😂). I loved it and it’s helped me understand some key things about my process for some larger projects I’m currently planning. Thanks again - your art and mindset are an inspiration for me and I’m sure many others out there 🙏🏽 Good luck with your show!

Been a big fan for a long time now. This is gold. Getting to see your process from start to finish is superb. I just turned 44 and only really started drawing again 8 years ago after a very very long hiatus. Your comments about drawing for drawings sake and forgetting about the pressures of likes etc is so true. It's easy to forget that and I am certainly guilty of it. Would love to see more but I know how time consuming making this video must have been.
