My thing is audiobooks and I tend to listen at work. It's crazy but when I'm home, I'm less invested in it and tend to pay less attention. For audiobook listeners, not be afraid to use the speed up feature especially if it's from a... less enthusiastic narrator. I found it makes it more bearable. Also shaves a few hours for more books. 1.5 x speed seems the be the sweet spot but I've listened at 2x speed on some slower narrators.

One thing that's worked for me this year is reading a minimum number of pages per day and setting the bar low. This is particularly effective with language textbooks. I don't think I could have done this if it weren't for this routine

The expense . . . In the US we have a fabulous library system. Folks, just borrow from the library and only purchase the ones you treasure. I've been doing this for years. It really makes all the difference in the world and keeps you from accumulating "stuff." After years of this, I own hundreds of books ... but only a fraction of what I have read. Also, if you own an ebook reader, most plug into your library rather easily. Kobo e-readers in particular make it nearly seamless.

Thank you, Ruri! I'll try to use this tips in my life. But sometimes I have to read some studying literature, and it's not just reading. If I want to understand and remember information I have to write main information simultaneously with reading. So I spend more time with this kind of books.

I used to read a lot when i was younger. Got a smart phone 4 years ago, and man, did my reading drop to near zero! I was addicted to social media, you tube, and games. Im going to try this. I miss books.

This is the second video I'm watching from your channel, first being the ADHD! Surprising me with a Turkish book and donating to the Earthquake Relief, I was not expecting this. Just, thank you.

Thank you Ruri! Great advices. I used to read more books as a child as well. That´s why my german improved fast. Today I try to find time. But actually. It´s all about priorities. Especially when it comes to Social Media Consumption. I always like to read two books at once. During the day something to learn and grow, in the evening some entertaining novel to calm down before sleep. Keep your motivating work going. Beste Wünsche aus Köln/Deutschland 😏
