I am a student and i need something for taking notes during the lessons. Do you think this device is a good choise? Because it is cheaper than every type of Surface Pro and the only alternative would be a chinese 2 in 1.

@@MorteNera100 I think it will be best solution to use this form factor for the lessons notes. In my experience I tried to use 12 inch Windows tab, but I think it was too big to comfortable use in the class. May be it's odd, but for me the difference between the 10 and 12 inch screen makes much more blockers to use in some classes to take the tab - like "take it now or not?", "do I really need it today?". I think the the Windows with OneNote and full Windows applications support is great solution.

Bought mine a couple of months ago and I'm loving it. It's a great companion device and having LTE is great as I can get on the net anytime, anywhere without hotspotting to my mobile. I was looking at the Pro 6 but the lack of USB-C and SIM tray was a deal breaker. I have had no problems with mine and I can't remember any lag or glitches so far. I'm going to start using the onboard apps as you suggested to see if it makes the overall performance/experience better. Good vid mate.

Nice job! I have a GO and quite frankly had a lot of adjusting to do from my IPad. I like the size as well and the pen is better for drawing vs. the iPad. Obviously the app experience is a total different issue for Surface users vs iPad users. All in all very happy with the GO. This video was help as I need to test that I can take good notes with it.

The 4GB 64GB eMMC Surface Go 2 is absolutely fine for Office 365, email, Netflix, KZitem, MS edge. Multiple web pages, full blown multiple Excel, Word, PowerPoint files, multiple KZitem channels can be opened at the same time. It reads and writes to a microSD card pretty fast. So, for a secondary PC it's worth it for business users / office goers. As a primary PC, the screen size might be a bit of a limiting factor. Overall, it's a great device even in it's lowest configuration for the type of usage mentioned above.

I use my surface go all the time, but with a few accessories. For travelling I got a 20'000mAh/45W xiaomi powerbank. It can charge it around two times. The batterylife is not so great and it is worth it compared to a very slow speed in battery saver mode. And for use on desk I bought the surface mobile mouse in the same blue as the pen and cover😊 The trackpad is quite good, but I your hands get quite cramped when having both on the keyboard. Recently I installed as dualboot android in form of BlissOS 10.11 and until now it works very good. The installation was quite easy, only problems are that camera and face recognition dont work and the pen has that jittery again. Otherwise its great to have the youtube, pocketcast and FAZ newspaper app in proper format. And for me it feels smoother than windows some times. But I have to run it from Recovery->Use a device->Android from within windows. And I have the 128gb version, the 64gb could be to small.. At home I prefer my pc, but for a student it is the best I could find. And with Android as second system I find it even greater.

Your video I feel shows how the Surface Go is meant to be used it's meant to be a companion device not a main computer. Although I can see this device acting as a main computer for a student who is doing web browsing note taking as well as media consumption. The complaints I hear about the GO are usefully coming from people who have never used the GO or people who are not using it the way it is intended to be used.

Had mine for 7 months now. My use is very similar to yours. I also find the new pen to be strange sometimes, but I don't have an old model to test it out. Two things I would add: battery life is inconsistent as hell, sometimes 6h, sometimes 3h. And it's not enough, I would like at least 8h. Second thing is windows updates. Months ago I had problems with auto brightness and wifi drivers, then I decided to test Microsoft insiders updates on the S Go. It is really better now, not to mention the improvements on the touch screen. Maybe you could try and see if it helps with the new pen. Great video!

Running the 4gb/128 on win11 even trying android apps. Pretty happy. Pen users: Will suggest that one skips the expensive pen and gets a R520 instead! I use the non Bluetooth version but it's rechargeable (surface pen needs AAAA battery) and has two buttons (vs 1). Checkout the Tablet Pro software to program the pen per program (geared towards artists, but the sky is the limit), also has customizable on-screen keys/shortcut/mousepad to ditch the keyboard for keyheavy apps like Blender

With August two months away, how likely do you think the Surface Go 2 will be available by then? If one has a dedicated PC/laptop already, would you still recommend picking up a Surface Go right now, or would it be better to wait it out for the second iteration?
@marlkalone7361
5 жыл бұрын
This is a late response, but it's doubtful that it'll be out by this year end. Microsoft is having a surface product event in October so only then we'll know. If you NEED a tablet now get it. If you can wait, wait until October. And even if it's not announced, that'll be holiday season which will have good deals on surface go. So waiting is a win win.

I love the small form factor of the Surface Go for mobility. That should be its main selling point, and makes up for any limitation in real estate that the smaller screen size imposes. The rather low spec for the processor shouldn't be an issue if this computer is used appropriately - it's not a graphic design or gaming machine. So far, aside from some lag in opening web pages, such as KZitem, it's not really been an issue for me. But then, that's more a problem of bloat in web design these days than anything else - my main gaming computer with an i7 processor, 16 GB of RAM and an Nvidia graphics card has similar issues, with only slightly less lag loading the same pages. Another great use of the Surface Go is being able to take my entire Kindle library with me (no need for a second device), plus my music collection on an SD card to listen to via Bluetooth headphones (I hate cables!). And the screen is surprisingly visible even in sunlight. The only improvement for me would be to get back to matte screens without the high reflectivity of the current generation of screens. But of course, that would have to be without any reduction in clarity, touch sensitivity, or pen useability.
