Your videos are fantastic. I have learned so much and will be changing the way I do things. I was also draining my pool because my equipment broke and it didn’t filter all winter and it’s now gross. I am SO glad I watched the video literally hours before I would have drained it completely. When it’s time to replace my liner, you’re my first call.

My grandpa had a pool installed in 1974, and it had the same liner till about 2012-13, and that liner is on its last leg. My grandpa was meticulous about the chemicals, he was a pharmacist, so it was as perfect as could possibly be. It was interesting to see the difference in quality of liner.

Our original inground liner lasted 31 years. The second liner lasted 12 years and was ruined because of a flood. Current liner is 4 years old. I do think liners are not as good as old liners but as you said, chemistry and housekeeping are important.

When I would first uncover my pool for the season it would have a "bathtub ring". I would only clean the top of the liner once or twice a season. After watching this video I will do it more often. Thank you for the advice.

I have a question about shocking a pool. I bought Clorox shock in one pound bags. They say in the instructions. "Broadcast in pool's deepest area with filter and pump on. Run filter and pump for 4-8 hours. DO NOT pre-dissolve. DO NOT add through skimmer or feeder, and DO NOT mix with other chemicals". My above ground pool is only one depth. When I add the powder it just sinks to the bottom which I believe caused my liner to fade in certain areas. Why not pre-dissolve? Is it better to use liquid chlorine for shock instead of powder to avoid this problem in the future?

What is the active ingredient of this shock? You will need to brush this settlement so the shock can dissolve, which has probably bleached your liner. Thanks for watching.

I love your videos, quick & to the point & so much info, appreciated! I saw you mentioned Tile Cleaner RX by Poolife. Is there anything else I can buy to protect it from UVA’s rays, especially the corners of my liners that are full sun. They are already inches away from the pool & a vulnerable point. ( I don’t know if it was installed properly) Or is marine vinyl protectant ok?

I like RX by Poolife , however there are several vinyl cleaners on the market and they all work pretty good. The vinyl needs to breathe, so cleaning is good but not sealing or protecting. Thanks for watching.

I was planning on closing my pool 2 days ago but the rain from the hurricane changed my plans. I am in Ohio. I have 30,000 gallons of water and drained my pool below the inline skimmer. The rain came and filled the pool back to normal level. I drained the pool again and this morning I see a bubble in the liner at the shallow end. I used my net and the bubble flattened when pushed down. Is that an air bubble or is that water beneath the liner? Is this a sign I need a new liner or is their a hole in my liner? The bubble is the size of a standard pool net. Will the bubble work itself out if I fill the pool back to normal level? Thanks

@@JJ-fg4wp It sounds like you have water under the liner, once the water recedes the liner will go back down. This is due to a high water table in the ground. The liner should go back in place, however you may need to help work it in place. If you need help, contact a local pool company, they can help reset the liner if needed. This can be fixed, however the age and condition of the liner will determine the success. Thanks for watching.

What kind of surface/tile cleaner are you using in the video? I haven’t been able to distinguish what’s best for vinyl liners as opposed to a hard surface.

There are a lot of different surface cleaners, they all work well but I like to use Tile Cleaner RX by Poolife. This cleaner works with tile as well as vinyl. Thanks for watching.

I would recommend using a surface cleaner that is compatible with your pool chemicals and does not cause soap suds in your pool. Thanks for watching.

My pools only a year old and i have a waterline i can't get out . i tried everything but it's faded from everything i've tried. Do you sell any decorative vinyl in a roll i can put on it? some people say you can use epoxy paint. I'm not sure about that because i don't want it to flake .

I do carry liner patches and samples but there are no samples big enough to go all the way around the pool. Do not paint the liner, the liner needs to breathe. Thanks for watching.

what about thickness? Is paying for a 40gauge worth the extra cost
@HallmarkPoolSupplies
Жыл бұрын
Liners are normally 20 to 27 gauge, and the warranties are usually going to be about the same. However buying a liner that is thicker will cost a lot more. Water balance, the type of chemicals being used and the housekeeping plays a big part in the life of the liner. Thanks for watching.

Some robotic cleaners will clean the waterline, however they don't deep clean, like when you hand clean with a vinyl cleaner. Thanks for watching.
