Hiring contractors is typically the best deal for employers in terms of pure $$$. No employment tax, liability, benefits which can actually sum up to be more expensive than the salary amount. Also in NYC here, it’s relatively easy to find jobs paying $200k with a couple years of experience. Of course, rent is also $2k a month with a roommate

Sensitive topic, to be sure. As Golagn Dojo says, it's not uncommon to find contracting gigs. (Or even contract-to-hires). Pay can depend on what you're working on and location. (NY and Silicon Valley pay far better than Orlando, FL)

Yeah, I guess what people don’t tell you is how much is left after tax and bills in expensive locations like SF ☺️😉

And as a junior? Although find a little bit difficult to find job in GO as a junior.

Usually Go requires you to know it. Also usually people who get hired on Go come from other languages with a solid experience already. The problem is companies don’t really look for juniors when it comes to Go

@@SteveHook Thank you very much for the reply! In this case, should I start working with another language and move on to go later? or Study harder and skip the junior part? is it possible? Could you give a tip to people that want to start a programming career with go? It can be a topic for coffee with Steve if you think it´s a good topic.

Steve how much salary one should expect with 3 year of experience in India (2year as java full stack and 1 year as go lang developer) ?
@SteveHook

It so very much depends on so many criteria like: market, experience, role and so on. Can’t really give a hard recommendation. It all depends
