As someone who has been diagnosed and treated for many mental health struggles over their life (depression, OCD, PTSD, anorexia, suicidality, and self injury), they ALL really come back to one: PTSD. Oddly enough, I think that was probably my first diagnosis in elementary. Comorbid conditions definitely make things more difficult, for the one suffering and the ones treating.

I find it very interesting that you share your experience of how your diagnosis was and why it took so long. I hope you can help many people by talking about the symptoms of this disease.. xo Maria

Wow- this is fascinating and insightful. A family member of mine was also diagnosed with bipolar disorder relatively late (mid to late 20s). But he also had a very traumatic situation in his late teens spanning to about the age of 20

What a great video! I assumed I just had depression my whole life. Recently I've been told I most likely have PMDD which causes bipolar like symptoms and behavior. Looking back I go wow, how did I miss this? But I know how. My life was always so turbulent that everything could be contributed to the chaos.

I relate to this so much. How in the world did I and my family miss my Bipolar Disorder. But as you mentioned so much turmoil is a great way to hide something like a mood disorder!

Not me googling bipolar for the 100th time lol. I think if anything for me it is adhd or MAYBE BPD because BPD is typically more reactive to stimuli rather than the prolonged periods of mania or depression that still happen with or without any external cause. Hopefully someday I find answers and help. Anyway, I appreciate you sharing and I look forward to hearing more about your personal experiences! 💜 Also out of the shirts I’ve seen you wear, this is definitely top 3 for me.

Maybe that's pretty weird, but I don't believe that mood swing this severe could happen for no reason. In my opinion, most mh ilnesses are a result of trauma. You explained very well why it stayed hidden and why there were so many things to take care of before you could notice it. Great observation, as always. Thank you for sharing!

@@Nat-yp4jp ☺️ Hebrew is not my native language, I know a few words and find it to be a beautiful language! I prefer to greet people with Shalom, rather than hello - as I believe it brings peace as the word means! Thank you for your comment ☺️ May you have a blessed night in Jesus Christ name! Shalom! Shalom!
