Super realiable and comfortable, I drove it to cities like NYC, Chicago, Toronto and as far as Ottawa, Canada. Its such a great pal for road trips not only its driving experience but fuel economy, a full tank of gas will get you 500 miles free way...Things never break down even with lots of miles put on, the only thing I need to repair are tires... Always always recommend friends and people this vehicle.

I hear a lot of controversy over reliability and maintenance since it’s a Porsche. I really want a 2nd Gen (11-18) cayenne but I’m scared of repair costs or breaking down. I drive a lot and I’d wanna maybe use it on more than just some easy highways. Could you describe more on how you treated the car that got you good reliability? Or how you think mine would hold up?
@zj5004
2 жыл бұрын
@@ariahs9428 Yes, try to find 17 or later models cuz it has carplay. My friend had a 12 model and I didn't like its steeling, buttons started to wearing off and hard to press. I lived in northern Michigan, the center screen only broked once due to extreme low temperature, then the next day it's ok. Repairs can be costly, I rear ended a CRV on a snowy night, half of its trunk recessed but my cayenne only got few plastic grills apart. I still need a new bumper anyway cost over 3k(1.5 on for the parts). Yes repairs can be a pain in the ass but definitely great quality. If the road condition in your area is bad I recommend smaller wheels(18'or 19'), admitted that 21' was cool but fragile. A single 21' performance tire can be $600. Service the vehicle on time and ask them to check all engine, transmissions, breaks anything that related to safty.

The two things that make a Cayenne such a good choice for me are that A, my aunt has had them my whole life and so my dad and I have done a lot of the general repair work for her and because of that I'm comfortable doing all the general maintenance myself. And B, arguably more important, I live in LA and my family has driven german cars since 1952, volkswagens, bmw's, audi's, porche's. This means that our favorite family mechanic is naturally a german specialist and as such any more intensive repairs the car may need, ie those I have neither the skill nor patience to perform, will be easily seen to.

If you do a lot of highway driving the diesel will be the most economical in terms of fuel efficiency. However it depends on the price of diesel versus gas wherever you are. 9000 for a transfer case. Also every single Cayenne 958 and 958.2 will have this issue if driven long enough and in the right conditions( rain etc. ). It is a known design flaw that Porsche will only fix if it breaks. It starts with a skipping feeling in reverse and then progresses to a weird feeling between 2nd and 3rd gear while turning. I believe only the diesel is the only model not affected.

LOL - OK. So I have an option to trade my 2015 Jaguar F-Type S for a 2016 Cayenne. So the whole mystique is something I am already aware of - having complements shouted across cars at red lights & so on. I have a sports car. But for a daily driver, it gets a bit old to have a 180mph car driving city streets and having sky high bills - and it won't tow or run dirt roads. so I do like the Cayenne. But to me it's not an emotional choice so much as a practical one. I'm about ready for early retirement, a travel trailer would be nice with the right tow vehicle and this could be it. Thx for the warning about model years :) The only sad thing, there is no car in the world, with an exhaust sound as good as a Jaguar F-Type - I will miss this, when it goes - kzitem.info/news/bejne/wIBn02eliKOlpJg

I mean you can always not save that $200. If you're planning to buy a car from them you might as well get as much of a deal as you can, but what do I know.

I've got a 958.2 Cayenne S and its the most unreliable car I ever had. I've daily drove and redlined my past cars like a BMW I6 or a Mercedes V8. I've beaten on those other brands for years and they haven't broke. I did hear that the 4.0 TT are much more reliable. The TT V6 power is nice but I may never purchase another one again.

@@prabeeshsidhu Engine stuttering, boost leak, sometimes misfires, window stops working. I mean it’s normal things but there’s a problem every 1-2 months. Not drivable rn. Otherwise aside from problems, it just gets vandalized.

@@PRNTestDrive It is, although it does give you props wherever you pull up but the thing siphons fuel like there’s no tomorrow. Not that much of a fun vehicle to drive either. Its feels like it’s trying to be something that’s it’s not. At the same time it ain’t a bad vehicle driving dynamics wise.

You’ll be spending a few grand a year on preventative maintenance, if you go with one of these entry-trims there’s less to break so less overall costs. We’ve had an influx of views on this Cayenne over the last 6 months, people are really interested in them right now. Seems like it’s a great choice.
