Can you guys stop going on the internet and lying about going going into a IT job easily??!? I've seen it too much where people say you can be a programmer in 1 week and some other bs about working at Google within 1 month. ALL OF YOU NEED TO STOP!!!

It definitely isn’t easy. But I’m sharing a story of someone landing an IT job within a month by working hard everyday. I personally didn’t do this when getting my job and obviously it’s going to be different for everyone else.
That's true getting in I.T without experience isn't easy, they come on internet to lie so people can buy theirs courses.

@@danielmbwaka7501 It definitely isn’t easy and if you think it is easy then you have the wrong mindset. Everyone starting out has no experience and needs to learn IT skills. My goal is to give you options and different pathways on this channel.

I will say IT is in kind of a weird spot since more companies are transitioning to the cloud and traditional tasks related to networking are become less common. Not saying IT will go away but things are definitely changing.

I had my first IT role with no experience after doing a 9 week bootcamp that transitioned into a one year apprenticeship. Once it ended, I quit that job and became a Technical ServiceNow Business Analyst. 2 years from no experience to a great job. It can be done, you just have to accept that it doesn't all come at once.

This will be a challenge for those of us over 55 YO to do. There's so much descrimination out there. Many women report only being able to earn minimum wage. What suggestions do you have for older adults getting into this line of career to overcome descrimination?

If you have a decent computer or any older computers I would setup a home lab. That way you can play with real software and operating systems that would be used in the job force. You can also do courses in more specific technologies that apply to the job title you’re looking for. However, I would revise your resume because it seems that you have a good amount of credentials to land an interview. What type of jobs are you applying for?

So technically be lucky and have a network/connections
@Jamesytech22

He didn’t have much connections other than his friend who told him about IT. Lucky maybe in the sense that there were a lot of job openings in his area but other than that, he was putting in a full days of work learning IT and applying so you can’t just say it’s luck. A lot of people spend a fraction of that time applying and wonder why they’re getting less interviews.
@zaofactor

@Jamesytech22 Nah, there's definitely a luck aspect to it. What matters more, though, is if you're able to take full advantage of that luck when it comes around.
@Jamesytech22

@@zaofactor Fair but if you apply yourself day to day your chances (luck) is way better which is what I try to tell people. But luck does NOT come in with the interview process and such because you need the communication skills to do well on the interview

That’s very incorrect. You can have a crap resume and NO ONE will read it. That doesn’t make you unlucky, that means you need to improve your hire ability. The reason you probably have that mindset is you’ve applied a few times and haven’t heard back. You have to revise and improve.
