Ingredients:
1 Gallon with 5L of water (mineral or filtered)
50g of American hops (Ex. Citra, Cascade, El Dorado,
500g of Dry Malt Extract (DME)
1 pack of any Kveik yeast.
Instructions:
Prepare 5L gallon with 4L of water..
Place 500g of DME inside (use a large funnel if applicable).
Attention: do not buy hardened DME (those that look like a brick, buy only "powder" version).
Place 25g (half) of the hop pack inside the fermenter.
Place around 5g or 5ml of pure yeast.
Close and shake for 30 seconds.
Unlock the lid (half a turn, for the air to escape) and leave it in a corner of your house to ferment (it cannot be at a temperature below 15oC).
Follow the fermentation for 2 to 5 days, until the fermentation ends.
For safety, let it rest for 5 days if it is Kveik yeast or 10 days if it is US05.
After completing the fermentation, optionally add the rest of the hops.
Leave in the refrigerator for 2 to 5 days until cleaned thoroughly.
Prepare the bottles for filling (clean them well and pour 5~10ml of alcohol into each one to sanitize, shake well and discard the alcohol).
Prepare your filling process (funnel, filter, voil, siphon hose, etc.).
Put the sugar in the proportion of 1 sugar bag (5g) for each 500 ~ 700ml of beer.
Transfer the beer to the bottles.
Squeeze the bottles to remove the air from inside and close with the lid tightening.
Attention: fill the bottles only with cold beer!
Leave the bottles at room temperature for 2 weeks.
Freeze and drink your first beer!
