Oh I absolutely love it!! Great video, thank you. I have been researching and wishing and thinking for the last two years about the best polytunnel to suit me and my space. I've looked at oodles of designs and spoke to so many people but never decided on the ONE! This year my seeds are in trays and small sunny areas before planting out. I need to just decide and go for a proper polytunel like this. Anyway I wish you great enjoyment out of it and great crop success .

That soil is just dreadful and it's an improvement on what it was like when we moved in! It is why I used raised beds with lots of organic matter in them, my hope is that over time the worms will take the organic matter down into the soil and lighten it a little, but in the meantime we just have to deal with the heavy clay with pebbles and sand in it!

Hi Linda, the soil is dreadful! I keep saying that we have poor soil here - it's heavy clay with pebbles and sand in it - but it's hard to describe just how awful it is until you see it! LOL That is the reason for creating all those raised beds, my hope is to be able to create some decent soil above ground level and hopefully the worms will then take it downwards and improve the clay below the raised beds :-)

Thank you for your time. I've got one question. What was the tape you put on your frame. Good luck. Good harvesting.
@LizZorab
2 жыл бұрын
It's called hot spot tape and is a padded tape (looks like it has a layer of polystyrene type stuff in the middle). The idea is to protect the plastic covering from the heat of the metal when the sun shines and warms the metal poles. I know plenty of people who don't use it and their polytunnels are just fine. I suspect it actually gives the plastic a longer life on the frame.

Hi Patricia, Mr J and Tony were superstars when it came to putting the tunnel up. It is really nice, I think I may need to have a camping party in it. I've never been camping, but I'd happily sleep out in this big 'tent'. The weight loss is a concerted effort to shift some of the extra that went on when my thyroid 'broke'. For the last three years the doctors have been trying to get my medication levels right and, although they are not quite right yet, I decided now was the time to tackle the excess baggage that I've been carrying around for the last almost 4 years. It will be nice to get back to looking and feeling like me again - hopefully by some time in the autumn, just in time for my winter 'sit on my bottom and do nothing' phase!

LOL. I love the dramatic music as the polythene comes over the frame! Last weekend we put up our first greenhouse so I totally understand your excitement.

It's really exciting when we add new growing possibilities to our gardens. Have you filled your greenhouse with plants yet?

Liz, I’m so excited for you! I can’t wait to see how you use that wonderful space. I especially loved the ducks “helping” you with the trench.

Liz, it is so wonderful! I’m so excited for you , I can see you filming from the inside in the cooler seasons! I loved you put the double door. I know it was hard work, but I feel you’re going to love it , if not already! ❤️

How does it go in extremely windy conditions - what wind speed do they guarantee it to?

We are on the coast and it gets pretty windy here regularly. Check out their website for info about guarantees as I'm not affiliated to or part of their business and so can't really speak on their behalf. But so far it's coped with a 70 mph wind here.
