THIS is the sturdiest and coolest looking stair rail you can build yourself. I've been seeing rebar used for a ton of outdoor deck rails lately as a cost effective way to make a beautiful looking deck. But how about doing something similar inside?
That's where I come in with a full step-by-step tutorial on how to build a rebar and wood handrail for your stairs. This banister is decked with spindles and built to code according to most of the nation.
Code size in my area:
Height - between 34" and 38"
Spindle (rebar space) - less than 4" apart
The wood I used is Poplar - it's one of the most common types of non-construction lumbers. Poplar is popular. And of course, the rebar can be found at any construction store but just needs to be cut to size. I used 1/2" rebar here I believe.
I got the original idea from the @PerkinsBuilderBrothers channel and just put a little bit of my own spin on it for my unique situation.
