In retrospect I could have used the original mount if I had used 50mm spacers and mounted the gbox on the other side. The second mount I made seems strong enough. It hasn't cracked or bent. Thanks for looking. Are you going to make a saw? Sounds like you enjoy spending time in your shed as well shedasaurus. My missus bought me a plasma cutter for Christmas. Maybe she thinks I don't spend enough time in mine ha ha.

Thanks for all the info! Is that gearbox strong enough and do you have to change its oil often?
@troopy001

Hi shedasaurus. The gearbox hasn't given any reasons to make me think its not up to the job. Even though its not rated to the speed I use it. I keep a close eye on the oil level. And use ep gear oil 140w. It does use a bit of oil. I have changed the oil once. And run probably 10 tanks of fuel through the saw

I only made it swing through 90 degrees cause I was a bit over it by then. I didn't want to have to muck around making a blade guard that would accommodate 180 deg swing.

Motor oil will end up in carb ,no? if you turn it 180

Also is there a reason you changed and made it swing one way only, was it a saftey concern so it would not 'run on' to the timber?

Sorry I got another Q. If you only went for the half swing, does that mean that you could have gone with the original swing design? It looked a lot stronger than the second design?

hi friend, how would the saber bar system be? How would you couple the current saber on this axis?

Hi could you help me? with the lucas mill machine, what is the gearbox rotation speed in the saber cutting system? How does the engine's saber bar system work? can you make a step-by-step docking system video? what would be the value of the Lucas Mill differential gearbox? where to buy? Could you also show me , how to attach the saber bar to the engine ?

Jeezuz bloody hell. And what if you're out in the bush. Didn't you hear his opening talk of wanting to cut in the forest? How is he supposed to get a 4M x 800mm x 3 tonne log to his garage? Sensible people take a portable milll to the bloody big logs. Duh.

@@426superbee4 And have you ever done the sums about how many kilowatts it would take to power that mill (in 3 phase); he's probably cutting seasoned F27 - F57 Australian hardwood not some F7 North American Fir or Baltic Pine; how heavy such a genset would be; how the ute with genset can get close enough to the log and the mill. Many DIY millers carry their mill in parts up tracks, as I did. Your comment and attitude is born of armchair opinion and not considering the needs, opinions, and *already stated parameters of this video poster*. You're like a typical twat who says "bandsaws are better, bandsaws are better". Mate, it's horses for courses. Go back to your video games.
