I use silicone to pot the batteries in instead of electronics epoxy. Never had a problem. I read criticisms that you can’t access the batteries later but if you do it right, you will never need to! Going on 7 years now with the same battery pack with no signs of loss of power or capacity. You really know how to build a bulletproof ebike that will lasts years.

I have been looking for a video on the Cyclone 6kw for about 3 years. If you add cyclone 6kw on te tittle I believe you would get way more views! Thank you so much for this video!

Why on earth did you completely seal in all the components? You made a lovely moulded battery box with a removable panel that goes to nowhere and I can't figure out why. One dodgy cell (that reads correctly out of the box but doesn't want to hold a full charge/discharge correctly etc...) and you're screwed.

tbf aren’t Most batteries sealed? I mean the only one I can think of that aren’t are the modular no weld batteries or the pouch cell Actually after rewatching the video I see your point. Completely sealing the batteries in epoxy is a really weird choice😅

It's called potting. A lot of battery manufacturers are starting to do this now. It prevents the batteries from moving around and from impact damage. Makes them a lot safer.

Hey dude. Love your videos! First for me though was seeing you weld the nickel over copper?? How?? What alien technology are you using?
@jd-dc

Thanks bro, it's just a cheap sunkko spot welder. Same process as spot welding nickel but you just need a bit more power so I upgraded the main leads to pull more current through

@@jd-dc so simply lay the nickel over the copper and she spot welds through both? What thickness copper did you use? My spot welder can do 0.3 nickel but I’ve never seen copper sandwiched like that. Ingenious

@@jd-dc Interesting, I have a Sunkko 709AD spot welder. Did you just replace the leads and tips with thicker copper cables? I have been wanting to use sheet copper for the connections between my battery packs but it doesn't have enough grunt to spot weld it. Struggles with even 0.2mm nickel strip at full power. I ended up soldering a bunch of 1.5 mm2 wire between all of the cells in my latest pack but it's not the cleanest looking option. What thickness of copper sheet did you use?

@Powered By ENVY I used .1 copper and .15 nickel. If you can weld .3 nickel then it should definitely work with .1 copper and .1 nickel

@Sigma Octantis what country are you in? The 120v sunkko machines apparently do not perform as well as the 240v. I just upgraded the main welding leads, there is an instructional video on KZitem someone made if you search up sunkko welder upgrade

Bro if you need to remove something from the battery box you going to spend more time then if you just used a thick sponge and the thing you put over on the battery is waste of time as if need to change one cell you will be wasting alot of time getting that stuff out but overall is a good build
