Nice setup on that jack kit. I wish my SCAG had that, but my floor jack works well under the V of the deck.

Great video Just one more important safety measure to take when changing blades. What I do I pull the spark plug wires off the plugs this way there's no chance of the engine starting while working underneath a mower

That’s a good idea to pull spark plug wires off. Thanks for the comment!

If you use an impact wrench do you still need the block of wood?
@WesternEquipment
Жыл бұрын
Most of the time you don't, but it is still a good fail safe if the blade tries to spin.

Is there an option to have a power drill attachment to assist with the lift?

Not that I see from the factory, but you may be able to alter the jack to make this work. Good idea and thanks for watching!

It's easier, and you're less likely to bang yourself up if you use the following sequence: 1) Remove one of the outer blades 2) Remove the center blade 3) Remove other outer blade 4) Re-install center blade 5) Re-install one outer blade 6) Re-install other outer blade

You do a great job!! However, this is directed to those John Deere R & D responsible....for what you pay.....they really should have a dependable flip up system by now....I guess Grasshopper is the only one with a dependable flip up?
@WesternEquipment

I'm not familiar with too many models that have flip up decks so I would assume Grasshopper has the best design. Thanks for watching!

Hello again, iam "dreaming" about getting a Z335E to replace our X100 deere in a couple years. do you know if it is possible to lift the front of that Z3E by hand to put it up on a jackstand?
@WesternEquipment
2 жыл бұрын
Yes. a lot of people could probably lift it by them selves and if not, then definitely 2 people could lift it.

Do the blades need to be in a certain phase with one another or can you just leave them random?

They do not have to be any certain way. They are designed never to meet. Good question though!

They should be as long as yours has the mounting holes that are shown in this video. I know there has been some inventory issues with John Deere so I can't say for certain if they are physically available at the time or not. Thanks for watching!

One question, when tightening down my blade bolts I can't get what I consider even close to tight before my whole spindle assy ( pulleys spin). How do you get past that!!! Bought this mower used for a steal, changing blades for first time!!!
@deborahcuster8142

go to ebay and get the arnold blade changing tool , it is well worth it . to keep from pver tightening the tool in one place, put it in the valley where the blades barely meet. give it a good snug. that will hold the blade still .
@WesternEquipment
3 жыл бұрын
There are multiple ways of doing this. I usually use a block of woof to wedge in place to keep the blade from spinning. You can also use a clap on the outside of the deck to keep them from spinning as well. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!
