A quick (albeit not thorough) introduction to Unity's New Input System and how to utilize it correctly. Primarily we focus on events and how to subscribe and unsubscribe to input events properly. I've seen way too many videos and read too many how-to's that just are not clear on this topic at all. I sincerely hope this helps the Unity community. There will be more videos later in this series that go into more detail with Unity's New Input System.
Re-uploaded after removing keyboard key clacking. Had to re-record some audio bits so that's why my voice is kind of all over the place.
NOTE: I was not thinking when I set the MoveIsPressed variable. This should not be modified under the "SetLook" function (duhhh). So delete that line, and the MoveIsPressed = true; line in the SetMove function should be replaced with:
MoveIsPressed = !(MoveInput == Vector2.zero);
I will address this in a future video, but wanted to add a small note here. Recording and trying to make changes really messes with my focus, but I like the challenge. A good skill to improve upon, for sure.
