Thank you for taking the time to make your video. I still think of myself as a beginner. Even though I may be thought of as advanced… but I can’t read or follow a pattern to save my life. So I rely on videos such as yours to be able to make small projects. I haven’t attempted to make a baby blanket or a throw. But I had the thought that per hat after I feel I’ve mastered this stitch… I wonder if I can also make the diamond on the back…. Hav2 you ever tried making this double sided? I have done lots of hot pads in the regular waffle stitch. I think the toughest part, for me… is knowing how to finish the top edge to have it look identical to the first bottom row… and when I figure it out how I’m going to remember how when I need to do it again. Right now I’ve been doing and loving the alpine stitch. It looks fantastic as a runner.. using a speckled cream color and for the single stitch using a solid color across the back and using that for three rows only on the back return single stitch and then when I’m ready to finish the other end I repeat the three rows of color. Perhaps next time I’ll use a rainbow of solids for every back row… I leave long tails of solid it’s easier to leave cut tails and weave them in when done…. And another project I’ll have to leave them longer to just make tassels. Some day I hope to figure out how to use two yarns and replicate the unknown stitch my grandma used to make everyone Afghans. She got Alzheimer’s and forgot how to crochet. But that was after she made her last one, for her first great grandchild… my son has her last one ever made… and believe me it’s a treasured blanket that I’ve made a priority to keep, as a keepsake, and now my son and his wife have the box of his special baby blankets packed tightly in a box boldly written on it. He’s so grateful I did that for him and so is his wife…. I keep praying that one day soon they’ll be able to use it to wrap their firstborn in it.

This requires some testing, but start making the pattern and crochet the rows as round and see if it is seamless. If not, you need to modify the pattern.

I made up one that I haven’t come across yet… I was playing around with the regular square waffle stitch. Perhaps you can do this in demo for others to enjoy since I don’t think I’ll be brave enough to try… I call it “Cindy’s Woven -Basket”. Starts with a chain in multiples of two depending on my hook size that will decide the chain length. First row, chain… Chain up three and turn then just do a row or triple stitch. and chain up three and then front post the next two back post and so on having two front post and two back posts… repeat at when turning to do next row just alternate the front and back post pairs and it created a same front and back woven pattern. And I’ve finished it off leaving it a simple square or done a trim row around in the fan of triple stitches. Hopefully this makes sense…. I wish I could add a picture. Or send you some pictures.

Hi, it all depends on the yarn and hook used as well as your tension. Make a swatch and measure how many stitches per 2inch area and multiply it to the desired width. This pattern requires you have chain multiples of 4ch plus 3. I hope this helps

@@CraftingHappinessCrochet I know it's late, but that says: : "Hello, I'm a new subscriber, it's a shame there are no clear videos with translations in French. I've been crocheting for quite a while and was hoping to learn this stitch -- thank you you did a wonderful job." Neither English nor French is my best language but that should give you a little idea!

I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. Thr most common mistake is crocheting in the stitch right behind the front post stitch. You need to skip those stitches
