Make sure to mark the hole and plug on one side ,because I found that mine was off center by a fraction and I had to remove and turn it 180 degrees to line up for the pin.

it was tricky to line it up perfectly, since it is required for the roll pin to be installed, I was able to move it slightly by inserting a rollpin punch and pushing it to line it up

The only part I cared about was removing that little rubber plug from the end. The pin was the easy part. As for the rubber plug, I grabbed onto it with a set of pliers. It took about 5-6 regrips pulling to the hard up then hard down, slowly gaining ground. Don't be afraid to hurt it; these things are surprisingly tough. Once I got it apart, I dumped out the contents, which were 3 .7oz steel weights and two pads. I replaced all three weights with three 1.5oz tungsten weights I got from Amazon. I started with a total weight of 3.0oz with the one that came in a 556 carbine and ended up with a 5.6oz H3+ for my AR9-9mm and AR47-762x39mm carbines.

Nice I found it cheaper to buy the weights your self and customize the existing buffer you have into the weight you need

Thanks. I got one of those KAK adjustable ones and they didn't really give any instructions on the ordering of it. I put in H configuration like the first time you shown and this video helped with the ordering of it. I'm measuring it at 3.75 oz so that's good.

yeah I saw there were no other videos talking about disassembling a buffer so thought I'd make one

I wonder if the order actually matters, ir if just the added weight is what is important. I need to take mine apart and just add one tungsten to mine to make an h2

I modify my buffers to tune my guns, notice youtube had zero contents on changing the buffers, its pretty straight forward but hope I can spread some info around to help others 👍

Preciate the vid. I dont like the rattle in the buffer so i plan on disassembling it and try and make it more silent.

The geissele tungsten weight instructions say to put the tungsten weights closest to the face of the buffer not closest to the rubber end. Does it matter? I really don’t want to take mine apart again lol

i'm sure geissele instructions are correct

the rubber portion of the buffer can be replaced easily, but unless its really worn or damaged even it should be fine as is
