Thanks that was soooooo helpful!!!! I always struggle with freeing the ribbons from the connectors so I am so relieved when I can see in which direction you are flipping it. I am cleaning my laptop and want to repair the keyboard so I appreciate your video a lot! Well done!

Great tutorial. I was able to repair my laptop. I wasn’t prepared for the cmos message at startup. I rebooted and everything was fine.

Many people are having trouble with an intermittent left speaker. This is caused by a bad connection at the plug removed in the above video at 3:50. I tied a fine cord around the plug and socket to hold them together and fix the problem.

Wow I can't believe I stumbled across this, I have that issue too and had noticed when I do a bios update it works for a while, even if I flash the same version of the bios. I would be surprised if it's a hardware issue but now that I see this I'll give it a try!! You rock!!!

Theres plastic under my rubber feet. They look like grey bottle caps under the feet and i cant figure out how to get under that plastic... wtf? now the rubber doesn't want to stick to the plastic pieces....

How do you remove the back feet without damaging the rubber part?
@Sellbrokedotcom
4 жыл бұрын
You need a small tool to get under it and pry upwards. I use a small flat edge bit or spudger, but most anything flat and narrow will work. They are just stuck on with dual side adhesive.

Thanks a lot for the upload. Do I need to remove just everything if I want to replace and/or check the touchpad? Mine's not working, just wanted to check if it's the case of replacing or maybe just needs to be reconnected.. Cheers man! :)

At 1:08 on bottom left there's the long ribbon for the I/O board, it would be under that (on this one somebody already removed it).

Anybody elses battery puffy when taking apart the laptop. I've got quite a few rc cars and puffy battery is usually not good. Laptop can go a few hours without needing a charge but definitely not as before.

So I have a messed up hinge. How do I detach it from the monitor?
@Sellbrokedotcom
3 жыл бұрын
You would have to disassemble the LCD assembly to get to the hinge screws. We usually dont take these apart, especially the slimline ones, since they are mostly held together by glue.

This wasn't equipped with either. The RAM cover just pops up and off, the SSD is held by just a single phillips screw usually.

@@Sellbrokedotcom Thanks for the quick reply. I wanted to mention these two things because they are exactly why I was watching disassembly videos for this laptop. I was doing research on if I could purchase the gtx 1650 ti max q model and upgrade the ram and m.2 ssd myself. It turns out that you can. The ram in the gtx 1650 ti max q model is easily replaceable and located under a metal snap on cover that is taped down while the m.2 ssd is mounted under the ribbon cable you removed at about 2:30. I'm not sure if any potential upgrade parts are "black listed" in the BIOS (certain models of parts not listed in BIOS file as compatible) but, I'll post another comment here about what I find as I just ordered this laptop and plan to upgrade at least the ssd.
@jtqthetieman

@@Sellbrokedotcom If you're wondering about the BIOS "black listing" thing, a component will only be recognized by the system if the BIOS is programmed with the info needed to know what to do with that component. A good example is trying to install a better wifi card in a Dell laptop when that wifi card is not one of the factory upgrade options for said laptop. Your big name oems are bad about this.
@jtqthetieman
3 жыл бұрын
@@Sellbrokedotcom I just noticed that I never updated you on my experience. Unfortunately, the 1650 ti max q model does not have user upgradeable ram. The ram is soldered directly to the motherboard. I was able to install a nice 2 tb M.2 drive and the laptop performs pretty well.
