The assessment is the most important thing a personal trainer can perform. You need to begin with the PAR-Q, learn about your client's medical history by asking the right questions. Administer resting measurement tests like blood pressure, measurements, and body fat. Then take them through cardio, movement and performance screens. NASM has 2 cardio tests, 4 posture (unless CES which has an additional 8+) and 5-performance tests (SHARK Skill and Davies). NSCA and ACSM have many additional components that will help you become a successful personal trainer.
