why do you use 5% in critical value table? where does that value come from?

it's a standard percentage chance of error that scientists use. there's always a chance of error. 5% is the most that is acceptable to scientists before they reject the accuracy/reliability of their data.

chi squared doesn't have 'pairs', it has categories, and the DoF = no. of categories - 1. watch from this point so it makes sense. kzitem.info/news/bejne/yp-BvIalm2OVaX4, it is confusing as the different tests have different ways to calculate DoF. thanks for the question.
