Going to try this workout today. I followed Adam Peaty’s coach’s set for 100fly endurance yesterday : 40 25s, alternate with fins every other 10 on :30.

Not to hate but u shouldnt be trying to adjust ur stroke on race day or like a week before the training is done and you should be focusing on keeping a cool mental state

I’m actually going to swim 100 fly tomorrow for a meet and it’s my first time so I’m kinda nervous but after watching this now I have a clear plan on what to do. This video helped a lot so I thank you.

sameeee but its today for me and ive only been to practice once in 3 weeks(which was yesterday) casue of a very long vacation, im goning to dieeeeee. Also i train in a yard pool but the meets in a meter pool, more fly for me :(

One thing I have never heard explained is why with the Fly is there an outsweep of your hands and arms to initiate the pull. There are some that teach an outsweep for freestyle, and others that say not to and to just pull straight through. As for the fly, I am trying to learn it all over again after 50 or so years of not swimming it. It was much easier when I was younger....

watch some Olympians in slo-mo, many do not perform an outsweep! They pull down like double arm freestyle and then recover outwards.

I am old school. When I learned the fly, we would recover with arms pretty wide, and then do an hour glass pull in towards center line, then sweep back out again. The elite fly swimmers tend to enter a bit wider and do almost the same thing, though not as exaggerated as what we did. Some of the elite do the sweep, some don't.

Im a under 1 min 100 flyer in SCM but a 1.05 100 fly LCM. I cant maintain body position in LC, horrible. I go out like 28 SCM and 29 LCM. Its the 2nd 50 where I die more than any other event. Specially LCM

One more thing, Fares: you keep saying "building tempo" but I never could understand what it means? Does it mean gradually increase tempo to the desired one for the distance? Maybe this was mentioned in previous videos somewhere and I missed it

Hey! I'm a master swimmer (30 y/o). I just tried the 100 fly for the first tim in years and went 1:14... I need to go near 1:08 for a big meet in a year's time. I went out 34 and came back in 40, last 25 felt horrilbe, especially in my legs. I need to build more endurance, what do you recomend?

work on dolphin kick, especially off turns. That set of 8x25 dolphin kick on side, stomach, side, back...work on making your dolphin kicks snap at the top and bottom of the kick. Focus on the snap, then focus on tempo.

Hi Oscar! 3000m of fly is impressive! To improve your speed, we recommend scaling down your distance and instead focusing on swimming shorter sets at a faster speed to help build power and tempo!

Try pulling with a kick board instead of a pull bouy for butterfly, it stabilizes the hips better. But I would stick with 2-4 x 25 not a 200 fly
