Better and cheaper in the long run to replace entire contact assembly. Plastic gets old and brittle the plunger rod is usually the bigger problem along with that thin little shim.

Great repair! Liked the voice over, had to LOL with 7:42 "...guys with little girly hands gonna need a jib" to then be followed up 2 minutes later with 9:46 "would be nice to have smaller hands" LOL

I've done countless of these. I usually like to pull the entire assembly out and rebuild it on the bench if I can. I find this way more cumbersome.

Was 22 years old when I started working on forklifts, retired at 70 years old seen just about it all. Great career requires a lot of patience remember to go with the flow and don't let it get to you. Best advice get all the schooling the dealership has and don't be afraid to ask for help. Problems on forklifts repeat themselves some one may have had the same problem and repaired it. Good luck.

Great work. Fast and efficient. Dont see so many of these old EV100s around any more, but I like the fact that they are serviceable. Newer all-in-one systems have only solution for everything, that is-replace the hideously expensive black box. By the way, I am with chuck7497 on this, you DO sound a lot like Tom Hanks. Is your day job in Hollywood, by any chance?

Left out steps..If you're troubleshooting a contactor you do a drop test across the tips..then a resistance test on the coil to see if its shorted..

C80 was the first SCR system I worked on. Didn't even have PMT pretest. If the #1rec or 1A contactor was shorted, full speed as soon as you closed a directional contactor. The 185 panel had a separate card, but most ended up getting bypassed.
