V taper is definitely growing a bigger back and shoulders so your waist looks small in comparison, but a V-line is different. That is your oblique muscles that can be trained with ab exercises like Russian twist

You have to be careful with it though, I've heard that working obliques too much can add mass to them and make your waist look wider.

True, back is one of the most important things for a v taper, there’s no v in a v taper without a back, however you should still train your abs, bf % alone isn’t gonna get you amazing abs

Yep, this is true. Your waist width is mainly based on genetics. So if you do have a mid waist that isn't small, just exercise those shoulder and back muscles.

It's just that if your back is more big then your waist will look smaller compared to the back so it works, just don't train obliques TOO much, it'll give you a "Y" type look instead of V taper

Never looked this stuff up, but I noticed after workouts that my pumped up back made my upper body look a lot bigger and my waist/lower body seem smaller so I focused more on my back. Glad my assumption was correct

Brother if your really in the gym I’m telling you this right now if your trying to lose weight. Eat after 12pm & stop eating by 10pm. You feel hungry in morning drink water lots of it until 12pm. When you go to the gym go hit the stairs machine if no stairs machine treadmill incline little speed not to fast & gradual. I swear you will lose 10 pounds in a week easy. (Add lemon slices to your water bottle as well) do this & if you can work out in the morning it’s better for weight loss. I was 240 dropped to 205 I’m back at 220 (been slacking but not mad I can bulk for now & come down slowly or speed it up with the diet) I’m trying to get back to my old self 180 but with more physique
