Fantastic root systems on those Paul so I'm sure that your Echinaceas are going to be successful. They are lovely plants. I like anything that has a daisy type of head. You are so right about keeping the cost low by sowing seeds or buying bare root plants. I sow loads of Cosmos every year and am always amazed when I see how much one plant costs in a garden centre. I do understand that they've had to nurture, pot on and also make a profit. It was a nice surprise today when the notification bell popped up and there was another video from you. Sending much love to you both. xxx

We love daisy plants too Wendy, aster, rudbeckia, echinacea and also anthemis are all fantastic perennials. We have used bare root plants a lot through the years and always found them reliable. It can get very costly if you shop at garden centres, but better at plant nurseries. We love cosmos too, particularly the taller varieties like 'Purity'. Thanks for all your kind words Wendy. Hope you have a good week. Take care xxx

Thank you for mentioning a soak first! I've gotten some roots that look dead and have revived them, also if they are bulbs with a good soak they start to show some sprouts = helps me know which side is up sometimes!

Yeah, a soak always gives them a great start and helps revive them after being packaged up. Thanks for watching 😀

Yes, I think it is called potting soil from what I've gathered from watching gardeners in the US. Thanks for watching.

This was in February but you can still get plants in the shops sold like this, so the same method would apply.

I used to buy so many plants from Woolworths, back in the 1980s. It was an amazing store. 😀🙂
