I’m hear to learn. I’m not trying to grow 20 - 50 pound watermelons…but I’ll be sowing seeds to grow them. I hope to have a variety of size melons. Thanks for sharing.😊🌱🍉🍈

I'm so glad I found this channel when I did! I've been growing crimson sweet watermelons for the past 3-4 months, and they're finally sprouting right on time for these videos. I'll definitely be taking using your tips so I can get a nice harvest this year 😋

It works I just trimmed all of my vines I also exposed the crown of my watermelon plants I’m growing CS too. I have two almost 35 pounders hanging from a trellis that will be cut today. I’m worried they will fall 😂. But all my other watermelon weren’t growing they were the size of baseballs. Since I trimmed everything Bear said and then some they have grown. I was worried because they wilted for a day but are fine now. So if that happens don’t worry it’s just the plant I’m shock from getting a hair cut. And they will bounce back the next day. Just make sure to give a little water after cutting if need be.

@denisemiller8474 35 pounders wow, that is super. That is great news. I am happy for you. You used bird netting to hold the melons, right? CONGRATULATIONS.

HELLO Michbaker, anytime! I'm glad it works for you. I did not do a video on it, but I did mention it in a video or 2 that cutting back on watering as harvest time approaches. Do you have any other tips about that. Right now, I am stunned, I just cut open one of my melons, and it must have crossed pollinated. It's good I had to get my son to taste it. This never happened to me, cool. It looks like one of our ice pops. Hopefully, I'll have that video for tomorrow.

Hi Bear!, Thanks for that great Info . I have never gotten big Water Melons so going to follow your tips and see where it leads. Can you share how you prepare your soil before planting? Might try that Golden Honey or Crimson Sweet, I'm limited on growing space so may only be able to grow just one but going to give it a shot, Thanks again 😊

@@GrowSomethingTasty got this from my wife…”I tend to pull them in a little early or bugs get to them. I did have one split a little but it wasn’t quite ripe, so I duct-taped it. 😂It worked! It ripened on the counter and the split didn’t rot. I pull them when there is concentric cracking at the stem but before the stem pulls away from the melon.” We are in North Georgia to give some context to the weather.

Do you use a grow light when you start your seeds
@GrowSomethingTasty
Жыл бұрын
HELLO Mrs. Clarkson, how are you? Yes, I use grow lights when starting seeds. If you are buying grow lights, make sure the Lumens are at least 1500 to 3000 and that the Kelvins are at least 4500 to 6000. This will give your seedlings a good, healthy start. Let me know if you have any more questions.

@@GrowSomethingTasty thank you Bear they are okay now after it’s been a few days . I’m my experience I believe it was just shock and heat that made them wilt. It’s been in the 100’s here in eastern Washington so everything is struggling towards the later part of the day . I’m having to water two to three times a day it’s that hot. The update is my water melon have grown considerably since I cut them all. I thank you because they were not getting any bigger before I cut the vines so this does work. Thank you 🙏
